It’s Friday and time for Susanne’s meme for sharing some of your favorite things from the week. I’m glad it’s Friday because I’m looking forward to the weekend!

1. We had a surprise snow this week! Not much for lots of you in the north but snow, most any snow, is a big deal in the south because we just don’t get it but maybe once a year. This is what we woke up to on Sunday morning, kinda fun.

2. The opposite of that is the spring like weather we’re now having, I love it! It was around freezing at the first of the week but is now in the 70’s this weekend.
3. Blueberries on my cereal
4. Facebook games, especially Scramble with Annie!
5. Bread machine I got for christmas….I’ve had fun playing with it.

And just because I have to put it in
6. Lost! Some good, good tv! I may be lost half the time but oh what fun to figure it out.

I’ve seen this passing around some and thought I’d play along since I haven’t thought of anything profound! It was just a bit harder than I thought to come up with 10 things but here’s mine:

10 Things I Do Every Day

1. Read…..I have to read every day, usually whatever book I’ve got going but I would feel all twitchy and out of sorts if I didn’t get to read.
2. Cook, it seems like I’ll have to do that forever.
3. Pray
4. Make the bed
5. Put contacts in………I can’t sleep in mine so I have to put them in and out every day.
6. Use prescription eye drops…..will have to do this forever to preserve my eyesight!
7. Weigh…..I think I’ve read you aren’t supposed to but I can’t adhere to that
8. Usually listen to music of some sort; and/or try to get songs out of my head that just get stuck there! Is there always a song or songs running through your head or am I the only one that happens to?
9. Get on the computer
10. Drink lots of water

Since I’ve got my laptop back from repairs and mostly running, I thought I’d join in this week over at Susanne’s Friday favorites. It’s been a while since I’ve done this one, let’s see if I remember how it’s done!

1. My favorite thing that’s happened recently….finding ALL my pictures on my external drive that I thought I’d lost when my laptop crashed! Yay!
2. Having hubby home again after a business trip.
3. Books; specifically this week the Sunrise series by Karen Kingsbury. It’s the last of her books about the Baxter family and I think I’ll be sad to finish the last one.
4. A cup of spice tea at night while reading.
5. Some of my reality shows starting back up this week! I’m a junkie and might need help. But it will be fun to see Amazing Race again, along with a few others.

1. The sound of rain on my roof at night, I’m not really a fan of the rain but it’s a nice sound at night!
2. Zicam, my friend during cold season. It really works wonders for me.
3. Pumpkin bread….made a loaf this week but only got one slice. My son came home to vote and took all the rest back to school with him!
4. Fall leaves…..we don’t always get a lot of color here but I have 2 trees with leaves that are turning red. I love to see them when I drive up and the sun is shining on them.
5. A huge drop off in the number of political phone calls now that the election is over!

1. I saw The Secret Life of Bees yesterday and really enjoyed it! It’s a fun thing to do with a friend.
2. Shopping online. Placed two different orders this week for things for hubby; he thinks it’s brilliant but I think it’s because he hates to shop. I love to get boxes in the mail even if they aren’t for me!
3. A visit to the pumpkin patch, what fun! We took the little kiddies and I put pictures in this post.
4. Cooler temps…..it finally dropped from the upper 80’s here and feels a bit like fall; very pleasant!
5. Crockpot applesauce…I tried the recipe Stacy posted and I loved it! I’ll definitely make it again, maybe lots of times.

What have been some fun things for you this week?

I was tagged by Annie for this meme, share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself that you haven’t blogged about before. I’ve done this one several times so not sure this will be anything new and it certainly won’t be interesting but here’s mine!

1. I do NOT like the dark! No dark places, rooms, streets, movies or anything related.
2. I wake up if the lights go off rather than on…..there should be light somewhere, night light or something from another room and if there’s not it wakes me up because it’s too dark.
3. I didn’t have a pet when I was growing up…I didn’t think it was so odd but hubby thinks it warped me somehow…..he told me a goldfish didn’t count!
4. I’ve always eaten peanut butter and banana sandwiches with mayo….I know it makes no sense but that’s the way my mama made them! D just about gagged the first time I made it for him, HIS mama always made them with butter! I never thought it was weird til I figured out I must be the only person to eat them that way.
5. I do NOT like to speak in public or to a group. It scares me, embarrasses me and it would probably cause me to faint dead away.
6. Numbers in boxes make me twitchy. Or subtraction, I still can’t subtract worth a flip….math was so not my subject!
7. I’ve only had my ears pierced about 6 years……yep, I waited entirely too long!

1. Getting a Karen Kingsbury book in the mail that I won from another blog! That’s always fun….it’ll go in my pile for later.
2. Getting my air conditioning fixed, a necessity in the south even now! It was out for four days last weekend and the first of this week. It was getting hot so I’m happy it’s working now.
3. Lemon hand soap….I like to keep it at my kitchen sink and I got a new bottle this week.
4. Survivor starting back up! And several other shows that I watch…I think I was tired of reruns.

AND, I saved the best for last!
5. This candy corn I bought this week…..can you see the bag?

It’s chocolate! Chocolate caramel candy corn, I didn’t know there was such a thing. Liz still likes the regular kind so guess we’ll be buying another bag of the orange stuff soon! But it’s kinda fun to have something different.

Friday again and time to list some favorite things from the week…….check out Susanne’s post; she has more explanations there and a mr. linky if you want to play along! I’m tempted at times to change mine to four things if my week has been uneventful so I might be stretching it with some of these. Some of my favorite things this week:
1. Several cool mornings this week…it was so nice and actually made me think that fall could come to us soon in the deep south! Today I could tell that it’s warming back up and we still have some hot days ahead of us yet but the cooler mornings were fun.
2. A spicy smelling candle that Liz gave me. It’s the first time in a while I’ve had a candle burning and it smells all fall and harvesty.
3. Walking every day this week. Well, I don’t actually love the walking much at all but I do like the fact that it makes me feel better afterwards! I think I’ve slept better plus it gets me out of the house and into the fresh air.
4. Blueberry banana muffins I made one morning; they tasted good and we even had some left for today!
5. Egg in a hole, or egg in toast………I used to make these for the kids when they were little! I made them one morning before hubby left and Liz was going off to school to sub, we ate them all up! Or maybe it was because I never cook eggs anymore and we’ve just forgotten how good they are. I did these in the skillet…cut a hole in the bread, butter in skillet, put bread in first and after it’s cooked a bit break the egg into the hole. Cook and then carefully flip to the other side, just like cooking eggs but with bread surrounding it! I put the cut out pieces in the skillet too. It was probably more fun for me to make than it was for the family to eat! Forgot to take pictures but you can find just about anything online nowadays….

1. New music I downloaded from itunes this week…….soundtrack from Mamma Mia! Fun to listen to and daughter Elizabeth was excited because she’ll get a cd out of the deal.
2. The sun! After raining for a while it’s been pretty and sunny here this week and I’ve enjoyed that. I get tired of the rain really quickly.
3. This blog by Meghan McClain has been fun for me to follow. She’s on the road with her dad and doing some stuff for her new book too I think. I’ve been liking Sarah Palin too!
4. Katelyn has stayed with me for a few days this week. It’s exhausting but enjoyable at the same time. I can tell it’s been a while since I’ve had a 2 1/2 year old around the house, she wakes up very chipper around 6 in the morning! She will say, “I wake up” and be very happy about it……I have never been quite that happy so early in the morning!
5. Getting a free sample of my prescription eye drops from the eye doctor…..that sounds silly but the bottle lasts me a month and saves me $70! So I like it when they give me a bottle.

The last couple of weeks I’ve noticed that Susanne has done a Friday post, all about favorite things. Sounded like fun and I need to focus on something positive right now! Just list 5 favorite things from your week…….I’m jumping in and here are mine:

1. Onstar and the gps system in my car! Just tell them where I want to go and I get turn by turn directions……very handy for traveling to new places and for getting me to the New Orleans airport in the middle of the night, almost a 5 hour drive from my house! That’s been a handy perk in my car.
2. Young son being back home after working in Alaska for 4 months! (Hence the trip to the airport at midnight!) He’s started back with classes this week and we won’t see him too much more than we did when he was gone, but he’s back in state and his cell phone works here so we can talk or text.
3. Favorite book I finished this past week, Uncharted by Angela Hunt. Wow! That is one of the best, most thought provoking books I’ve read in a while. A really good read for me.
4. Iced coffee drinks I’ve been making at home in my blender. A nice afternoon treat, don’t have to get out to spend money for them, and I can control what goes in it!
5. BLT sandwiches for supper one night, yum with real tomatoes! A favorite summer time sandwich for me and I’ve been lucky that some friends have shared their home grown tomatoes with us….I might have used the last one and will have to beg for more.
