The last couple of weeks I’ve noticed that Susanne has done a Friday post, all about favorite things. Sounded like fun and I need to focus on something positive right now! Just list 5 favorite things from your week…….I’m jumping in and here are mine:

1. Onstar and the gps system in my car! Just tell them where I want to go and I get turn by turn directions……very handy for traveling to new places and for getting me to the New Orleans airport in the middle of the night, almost a 5 hour drive from my house! That’s been a handy perk in my car.
2. Young son being back home after working in Alaska for 4 months! (Hence the trip to the airport at midnight!) He’s started back with classes this week and we won’t see him too much more than we did when he was gone, but he’s back in state and his cell phone works here so we can talk or text.
3. Favorite book I finished this past week, Uncharted by Angela Hunt. Wow! That is one of the best, most thought provoking books I’ve read in a while. A really good read for me.
4. Iced coffee drinks I’ve been making at home in my blender. A nice afternoon treat, don’t have to get out to spend money for them, and I can control what goes in it!
5. BLT sandwiches for supper one night, yum with real tomatoes! A favorite summer time sandwich for me and I’ve been lucky that some friends have shared their home grown tomatoes with us….I might have used the last one and will have to beg for more.

So there you have it; no pictures for me this week but maybe next time. To see who else is participating, head over to visit Susanne and join in if you want!
What are some of your favorite things this week?

“Uncharted” is on my list of favorite all time books ever. I thought on that one for days.

You makes iced coffees in your blender? You must share what exactly you do!

Now I’m craving a BLT with a real garden tomato. Definitely a fave in my books.

Thanks for playing Gail! That was fun to read!

Oh I haven’t had a BLT for so long. Yum! I just happen to have 2 slices of bacon and some tomatoes. I think I shall have meeself a treat!
Glad your son is back safe and sound…

Look at you, doing a meme! 🙂

Glad D is back, safe and sound. I didn’t realize he was already back in classes, is he working too?

Definitely share your recipe for the iced coffee. Tim usually drinks most of ours but sometimes I have some leftover mid-afternoon, so might try that sometime instead of pouring it down the drain 🙂

Tim had a BLT a week or so ago. My little tomato plant I planted him is making him tomatoes, albeit small ones. He actually had real bacon too, not turkey bacon, so he was really excited!

I have sent his too and may join in next week. I love BLT’s as well and miss them during the winter months..they are just not the same unless they are in the summer time.

I had that book on my list! Thanks for the reminder!! Oh a BLT does sound fabulous! Must go shopping to get the ingredients – Only have the bread part! OOPS!

  6. nikkipolani Says:

What a lovely list! Isn’t there something wonderful about a BLT with good tomato flavor?

  7. annie Says:

I haven’t read (or heard of) that book… I’ll have to look for it. BLT’s do sound good… You know I don’t like tomatoes because they are fruit… and won’t eat lettuce on anything… well, I used to tell mom I wanted a BM (bacon mayo) sandwich. It took me forever to understand why she didn’t want me to call it that.

  8. Tammy Says:

    Hi Gail!
I was just at Susanne’s and was thinking I should participate in this too…but without meaning to, I realized I kind of did this evening. Well, my worst and my best moments, actually. Attitude certainly is everything!
Even though you can’t see your son all that often, I can imagine how nice it is to have him closer to home now!
Have a great Labor Day weekend!
    ~Tammy

I now am officially in the mood for a midnight snack. Between the iced coffee in the blender (why didn’t I think of that?!?!) and the mention of a BLT I am famished!
