I bought some new shoes a month or so ago and I have to say, I have really enjoyed wearing them! They are fun, different and so very comfortable. There are days when I wish that I could wear them all the time and everywhere I go. But I did find that there was one thing they weren’t good for; I kept them on one day to go walking in because we were in a hurry and I didn’t want to change and they are so comfortable that I thought it would be okay, but it wasn’t. Have to stick with running shoes for that…..but for most any other day, whenever I can get away with it, I’ll be wearing these:

Years ago I had starter and made sourdough bread every week….the kids loved it I think. When we went through a kitchen/house remodel a few years ago, the starter died and I just never did get around to getting more. But a few months ago a friend gave me some and I have really been into making bread again. Rita and I went to Jackson a couple of weeks ago and while in Sam’s we found huge 25 lb bags of bread flour so we each bought one! I think that might come under the category of “What was I thinking”!

Elizabeth said she wants me to give the answer as to who the handprint belongs to! And she is the one that got it right; it is David’s hand and I think it is dated in 90, so he would have been about five years old. I think this hung in the kitchen for a while on a wall by the kitchen window, no wall there now, that was before we remodeled so she might remember it from seeing it in the kitchen.
Good job Elizabeth!

I was working on cleaning out a box in the attic this past week and found an old handprint that one of the kids made when they were small, and did it bring back memories! I think I know which one made this particular one but I think at some point they all 4 did one in school, Bible school, Sunday school etc. Such a cute little hand! Sometimes they made handprints in places they weren’t supposed to; on walls, the table, etc. Sometimes they would trace their hand on anything and everything that was available; I think every child must do this at some point. This particular one must have been made from some kind of dough or clay type material and it isn’t in as good a shape as I would like it to be. Anyone is welcome to take a guess as to which child it belongs to……

For a couple of years now, there’ s a group of us that will host parties or showers for some of the people we know that are getting married; some of them are in our church and some of them are our children! I have decided that the ones of us that give the parties almost have more fun than maybe the people coming to the parties! We just did another one in February, the second one we’ve done in 6 months and the decorations for this one turned out so good……a good month for a theme. Someone also commented that out of the ones of us that still give these parties, we have 14 children among us and that this one was number 7 to get married. I didn’t realize we had so many more to go!

A little over a week ago, we were getting ready for a party to be given at our house. (I’ll write more on that later) A friend and I got some of the decorations ready ahead of time and part of the centerpiece for the table included red and silver Hershey’s kisses! She told Don to be sure not to eat them! And he quickly told her that I would be the one to worry about (how well he knows me!). One night before the party I sat down to relax in front of the tv, wanted something to eat and knowing I couldn’t eat any of the kisses, I decided to eat some Valentine sweet tarts instead. They were really good and I had forgotten that I liked them so much. One was extremely hard and I couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t bite it in two! When I took it out, it wasn’t a sweet tart at all but part of my tooth! Yikes! That was a Friday night and I had to be careful of it all weekend. On Monday I went to let the dentist look at it and he put a temporary fix on it and said I would have to come back later to get a crown. As it turned out, they got to me the very next day; so on Tuesday last week, I got a temporary crown put on. I still have to be somewhat careful of this one and will go back in a couple of weeks to get the permanent crown. I think he also said that there might have been a partial crack on the tooth and something behind the filling that also had weakend the tooth and contributed to the break. So maybe the sweet tarts weren’t the only cause of it. But, now only a week later, I decided to eat sweet tarts again! I think it’s probably not very smart and I am trying not to bite right into them but suck on them first. And I am using the other side of my mouth instead of the side that had the break on it. But, I’m wondering, maybe I should learn something from my mistake and not eat them again?

I saw Stacy did this one so I found it and had to do it too, it was fun!

Candy Dreams

By the way…
Which do you prefer?

Milk chocolate or dark chocolate? That could be a tough choice and might depend on the mood at the moment but I’ll pick dark.
Hard candies or chewy candies? Chewy!
Tootsie Pops or Blow Pops? Tootsie Pops!
Plain M&Ms or Peanut M&Ms? Peanut
Are you tempted by the candy display at the grocery store check-out? Tempted always! But I usually am pretty good resisting then; when I buy, I usually go into the store looking for candy!
What is your absolute favorite candy? Another hard choice, but I do love Three Musketeers! and York Peppermint Patties, oh and Butterfinger too…….not many I don’t like!

I finished reading my latest book, “Forgiven” by Karen Kingsbury. It is the second of a 5 book series, and the next ones aren’t even out yet! It was really good and I’m ready for the next installment but it will be a few months, and into 2007 before the last one comes out. I guess I should have waited until they were all written before I started reading them. 😥
