Went shopping with Elizabeth on Tuesday……..she is needing/wanting some new things before school starts and we were also looking for things we might take on vacation with us. Struck out on lots of those but she did find a few new things to add to her wardrobe for school. We had fun but were very tired at the end of the day.

Stacy & I have talked about these before……… I think she hasn’t made them yet and has asked me some questions about how to make them, if I remember correctly. I made them Sunday morning for the kids; it’s one of their favorite things & I wish David had been here to eat them up since it was his birthday. What are they? They are cinni minni’s, as my kids call them. Nothing fancy and not hard to do, but they taste really good! So, just for Stacy (she is really the only one interested)…. ..here are some pictures!

Maybe it was all weekend long. 🙂 Liz has been here some before she moves off to go back to school & work, so Chris came to visit this weekend. Plus David came up on Saturday, with a friend, so we could celebrate his birthday with him a little bit! They waited until almost supper time to get here, but we cooked out and had cake/ice cream with them. He wanted deer sausage, burgers, chips, crunchy slaw so that’s what we did!

On Wednesday I went to get the 2 skin cancer places taken off; one on my arm and another on my back. They are now gone! I guess I should have taken a picture of it before I had it done because it didn’t look nearly as bad as it does now! Got some shots at the two spots, to deaden it; which hurt worse this time than when I had the biopsy done…..Don said she stuck me a bunch of times but I couldn’t look. (I think I know that I don’t like needles!) She cut and scraped on it, then started doing something that I had no idea what it was but it smelled like something burning! She cauterized it & that is the technical term I suppose, but we’ve just been saying that I got burned! I don’t think I’ve ever smelled anything like that before and now the place is bigger than it was before! I hope it gets smaller and fades with time.

I can see so much better since switching to these babies:

I started wearing monovision contacts a few years ago because I was sick of keeping up with glasses & Acuvue was what I used. Even though I loved having the contacts, I could always feel it in my eye and it bothered me from time to time. This past winter, my eye dr. switched to Acuvue Hydraclear because it was supposed to be so much better. They always felt blurry to me, like I had to blink all the time to clear it or keep rubbing my eyes. I had another appointment a couple of months ago and finally asked if there was something else I could try & they told me to try these O2 Optix & see what I thought….they’ve had a ton of complaints with the hydraclear ones. So I got a pair of the new ones, and WAIT, you aren’t supposed to feel the contact in your eye! I am amazed that wearing contacts could be like that! I had friends tell me that they never knew they were wearing contacts but mine has never felt like that til now! I hated it took so long to switch to something else but it is really nice now that I can’t even feel it!
I Can See Clearly Now! (oh yeah, do you know the song?)

What comes to mind when you think of the following colors?
RED: juicy red apples
BLUE: brilliant sky
GREEN: grass
YELLOW: daffodils
PURPLE: royalty
PINK: frilly little girl dresses
ORANGE: pumpkins
BLACK: dark nights
WHITE: fluffy clouds
A really nice friend gave me a few tomatoes, REAL tomatoes! The homegrown kind that make such good tomato sandwiches! Which I had yesterday and it was oh, so Good. That is summer to me and these are the first ones I’ve had this year, so I’m very grateful for gardener friends that share. Pictured are the ones I have left; wish they would last me longer but I think they’ll be gone in a day or 2!
Oh and for like the 3-4 of you that read this blog, 😀 tell me what song this is that I used in my title, or the artist that sang it. Google it if you have to (I did) & I might start doing this a lot more often if anyone wants to play along!
Leave me a comment if you want to answer.
Yesterday hubby called D and arranged for him to pick up parts for him in Arkansas somewhere and deliver them back to a job in the delta (this is the 2nd time this week he’s used him to run parts) He wanted D to be in Arkansas by 8:30 this morning so that meant he had to leave his apartment really early to be there. I had told him last night if it would help, that he could come up here and spend the night and sleep about an hour later than if he stayed at his apartment. But he didn’t think he’d do that & when we got in from the movie & he wasn’t here, I figured he would just leave from his place in Clinton. (click below for rest of the story)

Our neighbor’s yard has fig trees in it, and for many years I have been able to pick from their trees and enjoy the fruit! We have new neighbors now and I don’t know them as well so I don’t feel like I should just go over and help myself to their fig trees; but yesterday she brought me a sack of already picked figs over to my door! I was so excited……..we were on our way out to the movie so I’m just today deciding what to do with them. I had a bowl for breakfast, yum.

We camped a good bit when the kids were younger; mostly because it was a way we could take long trips and see lots of the country without spending too much money! And because it gave everyone some different experiences and gave us time to be together as a family. We didn’t eat out very often because it was expensive to feed a family of 6 while travelling. When I looked at pictures I think I also remembered that it was a lot of work too! So much stuff to be packed, food to be bought & stored, setting up camp. Just cooking a meal was sometimes an effort and you don’t realize sometimes what we take for granted in our houses, like hot running water to shower and wash dishes with!

I have been lucky most of my life in finding money….I pick it up whenever I see it, pennies or any amount. Sometimes I think it is because I’m looking down so much when I walk rather than looking out into the world. But E gives me a hard time about picking up pennies and says she doesn’t pick it up unless it’s silver! So I think it has to be a quarter or more, maybe a dime, before she will get it.
Stacy is the same way as me, she finds it frequently and picks up any amount also. Saturday while the guys played golf, Stacy and I went to Walmart for some things I needed. This was a good day for me!
