A really nice friend gave me a few tomatoes, REAL tomatoes! The homegrown kind that make such good tomato sandwiches! Which I had yesterday and it was oh, so Good. That is summer to me and these are the first ones I’ve had this year, so I’m very grateful for gardener friends that share. Pictured are the ones I have left; wish they would last me longer but I think they’ll be gone in a day or 2!

Oh and for like the 3-4 of you that read this blog, 😀 tell me what song this is that I used in my title, or the artist that sang it. Google it if you have to (I did) & I might start doing this a lot more often if anyone wants to play along!
Leave me a comment if you want to answer.

OK, you know I don’t like tomatoes, I’m the only one in the family who won’t eat them. Everyone else loves them, and loves tomato sandwiches in the summer.

I BLINGO’d it and found the lyrics… what do I win if I’m right or first or both?! 🙂 I don’t want a tomato, better let someone else win!

I found John Denver, some song I’m not familiar with. 🙂

They do look like good tomatoes, though, nice to have friends who have gardens! Send me some zucchini 🙂

Blingo, Google, same thing! You can be first and John Denver is right……anyone else want to say what the name of the song is?

Stacy, you are not completely right. I do eat them, but only in certain ways and NEVER in my salad anymore. Anyone at work who is used to going out to lunch with me knows I order my Cobb salad, no tomatoes.
I will eat them fresh, like Gail has, with mayo, or a BLT………they are good sometimes in the summer!
Gail and Dodie were definately more the fans than me. or you !Good one, Gail, but I don’t know the song !

There is nothing like home grown tomatoes. In fact I called my mom this morning to place my “order” for some Saturday when I see them at a wedding. I’m having a cookout for Patt’s b’day and want the real deal for the hamburgers:) Or I may be mean and keep them for myself…..last weekend I got some tommy toes and wouldn’t share them.

Yummy, tomatoes! The pics are great. I am drooling.

I LOVE tomatoes. When I was growing up we had a huge garden every year. Tomatoes were my favorite. My mom would ask my sister and I to go pick some tomatoes from the garden. We would happily go out to the garden with a salt shaker in hand and eat them straight off of the vine. (the thought grosses me out now) Fresh tomatoes are the best. I don’t have anyone close to us anymore that grows them fresh, so I usually have to visit my dad to get some good ones. Speaking of which, he just gave me 3 watermelons. My second favorite thing that we used to grow.
