We had a good weekend, not much going on here at all. We didn’t dye eggs this year, but the kids still think it’s not Easter dinner if we don’t have these!

“All heaven is interested in the cross of Christ, all hell terribly afraid of it,
while men are the only beings who more or less ignore its meaning.”
(Oswald Chambers)
“No scene in sacred history ever gladdens the soul like the scene on Calvary. Nowhere does the soul find such consolation as on that very spot where misery reigned, where woe triumphed, where agony reached its climax.”
(Spurgeon)
We are having a music program tonight at church and again Sunday morning. I hope everyone has a blessed Easter weekend.

I think that Lost is new tonight and all I can say is……….it better be a good one! I think I’m getting tired of just getting tidbits and nothing really substantial. I still enjoy it and really want to watch it but then I find that I’m not quite satisfied with it when it’s over. There needs to be something else happening or more info given or something. It seems that it will be hard to keep it like this and keep people’s interest up indefinitely if the audience isn’t given something that will answer just something, just one thing maybe! Not just about why Hurley might not be losing weight, that wasn’t significant enough I don’t think.
I was all ready for Amazing Race last night and then remembered that they changed the nights! Can’t get used to that.
Maybe because it’s spring, I seem to be tiring of all these tv shows………..maybe I need to move on to something else for a while.

I bought a bag of Chocolate Peanut Butter Chex Mix to take in the car last month when we drove to Dallas. The kids opened it while driving and proceeded to spill like half of it all over the suburban! I had never tasted it before but tried what was left of it on that trip, and that stuff is so good. The only problem I see with it, they put too many stinking pretzels in it! I guess that is the cheap stuff that they can fill the bag with so I would like less of them. But I have bought maybe 2 more bags since then and it it so good to snack on. Try it and see.
I probably like it because it has M & M’s in it 😉 I seem to be about food this week, sorry.

the tough go shopping! Or at least that’s always been my motto. So, I thought I would get out of the house today and roam around the big Walmart, exciting huh! I had wanted to get some hostas to plant; they had a ton of them in there last week and now there were none of those, just some really big ones and I didn’t want those. I planted some last year and the year before and they came back but this year only one has grown back. 😥 I will have to look for them elsewhere or later.
On the bright side, they did have something that I just learned about and it definitely made me feel better!
I’ll put some pictures on the extended page of it and some other happies that I thought of to make me feel better today.

I finished reading my latest book, The Blue Bottle Club, this past week. I really enjoyed it; it was somewhat different than the others I had been reading lately. I will put a review of it in Hambones on the reviews page. I also did 3 more “books” last week—-books on tape that is. First up was At Home in Mitford, then Crazy in Alabama and the last one was The Summerhouse. Out of those three, I enjoyed the Mitford one better than the other two!

I found this at Stacy’s blog and decided to take it as well. Surprise, surprise, mine is the same as hers! We seem to be so alike, no one would have thought that! haha

I just finished reading my latest book, City Girl………it was a set of three books called the Yellow Rose Trilogy. I won’t review them here but will do it on hambones instead. That makes 13 books for me so far this year. I also “read” another one last week while in the car for a long trip; “At Home in Mitford” by Jan Karon….it was a book on tape. So, not sure how to count that in my list of books for the year; Stacy said I wouldn’t have any pages to record! So, maybe I’ll just list it under my book list and have an added section for books on tape. I don’t do them very often, just when we are driving for long distances, it really helps pass the time and miles and you get a book read in the process.
My review for the other books is here.

Baseball has started again………I used to watch the Braves play most every game that was on television, which was often since TBS carried almost all of their games! Then I think I burned my family out on them so I haven’t watched it hardly at all the last few years; maybe this will be the year that I pick it back up again. I saw tonight that the Braves beat the Dodgers in their opening game, like 10-5 or something like that. Hope they have a good year. If nothing else, we should try to make some more Mississippi Braves games this year in Jackson; we went to one last year and it was a blast. I remembered when I was there that it is so much more fun to go in person than to watch it on tv.
And of course, Braves games remind me of one of the first times we ever went to one of their games in Atlanta. The kids were fairly little, Elizabeth couldn’t have been more than like 5 or 6. She asked me a ton of questions about the field, the game, the players, etc and then out of the clear blue she asked me if Grandma was going to die! It so totally took me by surprise, I had no idea where that had come from. I wondered for a split second what to tell her and then tried to say that everyone would die but that she probably wasn’t going to die anytime soon. Then she asked again if Grandma would die and I thought I needed to try another answer when she said, “If Grandma dies, can we get a new grandma? and can it be the one with the pony!” I almost passed out laughing. We had been to one of Grandma’s friends the previous weekend, and yes, they had a pony. So she just wanted to make sure that if her grandma was gone, she wanted to get a new one, the one with the pony! I still to this day don’t know why she thought of that during the middle of a baseball game but she was going to make sure I knew about it. I don’t think she remembers it much now but it was cute, at least to me! But I’m the mama.

I have been eyeing my neighbor’s wreath on her front door for a couple of weeks. So last week when the kids were home, I walked over to look at it closer and told her I might have to copy it. She said it was easy to do, so I got everything I needed and did it last week. It was pretty inexpensive too. I thought maybe all the girls would want one and I offered to get stuff to do one for them to take home……..Kathryn and Elizabeth didn’t seem interested, Shanna wasn’t here and I asked Trent about it for her but he never answered me; so for now I’m the only one that has one, other than my neighbor that I copied it from! She didn’t put a bow on hers, had ribbon loops that she put in random places; it was cute but I couldn’t find that ribbon so we picked a different ribbon and made a bow on mine.
