After waiting and waiting on my hostas to bloom; I blogged about it here…….I finally have one that the buds actually opened! The first one that I had the picture of just had those buds but they never really opened and just sort of died I guess. Stacy said they are probably like a tear drop shape and that hers don’t really open up; mine seem to be that too but this 2nd plant actually has some of the blooms that opened up more and you can see the flower on it. Hope it shows up in the picture!

I didn’t quite get through last week with the things I had been monogramming…..got a few more graduation invitations in the mail so I needed to get something done for those. I’m a little late sending some of them but hopefully can get them in the mail today.
No more baby gifts at the moment, that I know about anyway! So maybe I can sew something for the little girls in the family next—-have no idea on sizes for them though! Or maybe I’ll think of something else to sew to keep myself busy!

Been sewing/monogramming lately for gifts that I want to finish; some for baby and others for graduation. I still have a few more to do that will need to get in the mail but that will be later this week or next week. The hardest part of doing it is actually getting started but when I do get going on it, I really enjoy it and enjoy picking out the colors and all. Click below if you want to see pics!

On Saturday we decided, sort of at the last minute, to go to a matinee showing of
The Da Vinci Code. Got into some unexpected traffic and were a bit late getting there……I do so hate to miss the beginning of a movie. But E and C have both read the book and said they would fill us in. I still had a bit of a time getting all the names and groups straight. It seemed to be a fairly suspenseful movie although I don’t think the critics have been too kind toward it. Without having read the book, both the hubby and I could figure out early on where he was going with it as far as the girl was concerned; that didn’t seem to be too much of a mystery to me to figure out there. Our pastor started a series on it Sunday night at church. He saw the movie as well so he’d know what he was talking about and had talked to someone last week that said they could see how all of it could be true and seemed to buy into it. That seems to be where some of the problem comes in with it…..I know how I believe, I know that the book is a wildly creative work of fiction but some people that don’t know for sure what they believe or know as much about Jesus or history might seem to take it all as truth.
The kids said that parts of the movie toward the end were not things that were in the book; people that liked and read the book might be disappointed by the movie and I’ve heard that the book was better. It will be a big movie and make a lot of money even though the critics don’t seem to like it. And it might be a good thing that it will get people talking about it all. Found some pretty good sites that have more of the truth about it all so if you want to read more about it, check here, here, or here for more articles and info.

exciting Friday night at home! One of our daughters and her boyfriend came for a brief visit this weekend, drove to see us after they got off work. We had supper and visited briefly; I had thought we might play a game or watch a movie but it seems that everyone else had another idea. I don’t know if it was my stimulating conversation, too much food, they were so excited to see me or what, but this is what happened as soon as we sat down in the den……..

Last week for Mother’s Day one of my children gave me some roses! They are so pretty, kind of several shades of pink and I enjoyed having them around here……….but, alas, they don’t last forever! A week makes a lot of differnce in how they look!

This week Kristine says:
“I am inspired by Wave of Modulation. She takes my breath away. Not only with her pictures, but her words that are so real, raw and soul squeezing. This week…it’s about WoM.”
Our assignment:
1. Something Discarded
2. Lay down on the ground and find something ugly and make it beautiful.
3. Take a picture in the style of the person that inspires you. #3 is wide open – meaning if you took a picture that you wouldn’t have normally taken, but you thought, ‘hey so-in-so would love this’. Share with us your inspirations!!
I actually shouldn’t have played this week because I am not a photographer; but it is fun to try some things and get some different pictures so click below for my shots this week.

It’s a first for me………….I noticed a week or so ago that two of my hosta plants have shoots with a bud or bloom on them! This is the third year I think that hostas have been in some of our beds and none of them have ever bloomed before. And it might not make it this time but at least there is something there.

Had a full and fun weekend! We rented a movie Friday night to watch, “The Greatest Game Ever Played”, a true story and we enjoyed the movie. It was interesting to see some history behind golf, this tournament and the story of this amateur that played in it. I recommend it to watch.

It’s all relative:
1. How many siblings do you have? 2 sisters
2. Do you get along with your family? I think so!
3. Think you look like anyone in your family? I’ve been told that I look like my mom and that one of my sisters and I look alike.
4. Do you want / do you have any children of your own? I have 4 children, and 2 children that married into the family!
5. Special plans for Mother’s Day? 2 of the kids will come home, we’ll go to church and then out to eat! And hopefully they will stay and visit for a while!
