Went down to Madison late yesterday for Don and Tim to play golf, again! They got it bad. We had planned to drive home last night but they got through later than expected and we were very tired. So we spent the night and drove back early, early this morning so Don could get to work by 7ish. I am tired now and it’s not even mid-morning! The sun was this beautiful red ball when it first came up and I tried to get pictures…….took me a few tries before I switched to a landscape mode on my camera and at 70 miles an hour, it’s hard to get pictures! Took quite a few hoping that some would turn out and a few were halfway decent. I’ll include 2 of them here:

The doctor called back late yesterday to give us the results of the biopsy………both of mine are cancerous and will have to be taken out but none of Don’s three places were. His are pre-cancerous and can be dealt with by freezing them. No fair that I have to be cut on! He was the one with the appointment and wanted to go, he just kind of had me go as a sidenote at the last minute. I’ll have to go back in a few weeks and get them taken out and she said that I might be prone to more since I’ve had these……..oh fun, something to look forward to!
They are the basal cell carcinoma kind, the most common I think and maybe it’s good it’s not melanoma.

I’ve had a sewing project that I’ve been working on for my mother in law and somehow it’s not coming together and it seems that I’m not supposed to get it done because everything is working against me! Have had quite a time with the fabric and colors, so finally switched to a different material so it would show up better. Thought I had most of them done on Friday before we went out of town, but Don looked at them and thought I needed to change colors on a couple of them, which meant I’d have to go get more fabric and almost start over, ugh. So got around to that finally today, after not being motivated at all. Then got to going on it and the power went off at the house, ARGH! If it had happened while the machine was stitching out the design, you would have heard some major screaming and I might not have lived the rest of the day! Plus, the house got hot as well, it was off almost 2 hours. When I called to report it, they gave me a time frame for when it would be fixed; when the time was up, it still wasn’t back on & no trucks had been by to look at it, so I was about ready to look up the number and call again when all of a sudden it came back on….fishy! It was almost like, “oops time is up, we better push the button so it will come back on!” That didn’t make me any happier to have that thought, but at least the air conditioning is back on!
Now to get motivated to start sewing again!

Both hubby and I went to the doctor this past week to get some places looked at on our arms and neck…..looked like they might could be little skin cancer places. I got a biopsy done on 2 and hubby got it on 3 places. The Dr. also froze 2 places on him that looked pre-cancerous she said and that might take care of it before it develops into anything else. Didn’t hurt too much, but I don’t like the needles they have to use to stick you with beforehand, but I think that’s better than them cutting or scraping with no deadening! We will find out next week what they are and then may have to have something else done also, more cutting and scraping I suppose. Odd thing is, the one on my arm is on the right and I thought if it was from sun stuff that it would be on my left arm which props on the window sometimes while I drive. She asked if I was the passenger a lot, which I’m not, I’m usually the driver almost anywhere we go! And the one on my back seemed like it was in a spot that doesn’t get a lot of sun…………so it could be that these were from sun or sunburn I got a way long time ago. Gotta put that sunscreen on all the time I guess, even if you aren’t going to the pool or work outside. I think that’s what they’ve been saying the past few years but back when I was a kid, almost no one used sunscreen and I don’t think it was around much. So from the few times I did get sunburned, something would have caused damage somewhere. Glad they know more about it now and can start getting it on children at a young age!

Yes, maybe I am! I love earrings and I’ve bought several new pair lately. I love to have them, love to wear them and wear some every day. Sometimes I think it is because I waited so long to get my ears pierced. My girls told me to do it years before I ever did; they said there were so many more cute earrings for pierced ears than for ears that weren’t pierced………..and they were right! Stacy and I went shopping a week or so ago and we both found some; I don’t think we paid over seven dollars for any of the ones we bought and a couple of them were like 4 or 5. Now I’m wishing I had gotten some more! But I can always go back the next time I get to Kohl’s and look around for new ones. Here’s my latest ones:

And I’ve been working like…………….actually it’s been 4 long days! Worked all day Thursday and Friday at the church helping to decorate for Bible School. Friday evening we drove 30 miles to go out to eat with hubby’s family and visit so we were late getting home. Then I had to go to work on Saturday morning to help hubby get caught up with some office work he can’t get done because it’s the busy season and this kind of stuff has to wait until he has time. So we worked all day and into the night Saturday at the office and then Sunday afternoon and night after church; got home both nights after 9:30. So that makes me very tired too! But we did get a lot done, so I think he doesn’t feel quite so pressured now to get this stuff mailed out because we did the majority of it. Now I need to catch up around my house!
Also have an updated pic of the big fireplace picture I worked on at church for vbs…..still didn’t get a shot of the other one but this one turned out pretty good I thought.

Yes, once again it’s SUMMER and time for……………….Bible School! My friend at church that directs ours needed help decorating and getting ready for VBS, which starts next week. So, I told her I’d help today with some of the decorating; I should have worn old clothes because I didn’t know I’d be painting! She had an overhead projector and some transparancies that put the picture up on the wall and then I had to climb up onto a table and trace the big, blown up picture onto huge sheets of paper we put up on the wall. Got 2 of those done and then we started painting them. It was really more tiring than I realized it would be; I was climbing up and down and then would be down on the floor either tracing or painting. This year’s theme is Arctic Edge I think, so lots of lodge, mountain and animal kinds of scenes. Click below for the rest of the entry, with a picture!

I got one new thing recently, last Friday in fact, but I’ll include a picture of my other new toy that I don’t think I’ve talked about before. Hubby got me a new cell phone last week……I think I could have still used the old one but he and the kids were beginning to call it names like dinosaur! So now I’m trying to learn how to use this one:

After a long and busy weekend, I’m now trying to catch up on some things but not having much luck! I seem to have misplaced my keys and that has sort of stalled me from doing anything else…..I hate losing stuff! ARGH!
Our church did a servant evangelism project Friday evening………passed out free water bottles to people coming to the concert that was going on in town. We were outside for about 4 hours doing it and it could have been way hotter than it was. We left going out of town after that so we missed the fireworks that they do at night for the concert.
