This week Kristine says:
“I am inspired by Wave of Modulation. She takes my breath away. Not only with her pictures, but her words that are so real, raw and soul squeezing. This week…it’s about WoM.”

Our assignment:

1. Something Discarded
2. Lay down on the ground and find something ugly and make it beautiful.
3. Take a picture in the style of the person that inspires you. #3 is wide open – meaning if you took a picture that you wouldn’t have normally taken, but you thought, ‘hey so-in-so would love this’. Share with us your inspirations!!

I actually shouldn’t have played this week because I am not a photographer; but it is fun to try some things and get some different pictures so click below for my shots this week.

1. Something Discarded
I took this picture on the beach about a month after Hurricane Katrina hit the Mississippi Coast.

2. Lay down on the ground and find something ugly and make it beautiful.Laying down, I took a pic of my ceiling fan as it was spinning around; not beautiful but I was laying down!

3. Take a picture in the style of the person that inspires you.
One of my daughters took a similar shot a few years ago and I always loved it and wanted to take something similar to it.

you’re definately a photographer, those are all great shots….the 1st is really heartbreaking, you captured the whole spirit of the storm with that one shot….great job capturing the movement of your fan…and the bottom colors are wonderful…nice job!

  2. Jenie Says:

Oh, I disagree with you. I’m glad that you played! That first picture is just….I don’t know. I love it. Good job on the others too!

That first one is very haunting!

    I played!

  5. Hemlock Says:

Absolutely you should play! I’d be so disappointed if people who thought they weren’t photographers stopped playing. We all have inspiration and should use it!

Your first shot is proof enough. It’s all at once innocent, sad and dark. You just know someone is missing that doll.

Great work!! I played too… as always.

That first shot grabbed me right in the heart!

I think it was because as a little girl my raggity anne was my favorite doll, but …it’s sad.

It was even sad before I heard the whole story, and that there is TALENT!!

  7. Suzanne Says:

Wow….these were really cool……..you did very good !!

  8. Dawn Says:

not a photographer?? PLEASE! that first photo is spectacular. haunting & tragic & lonely. you captured emotion in an imanimate object! nice job! i love the motion in your second photo. and the colors in your last photo–the way the blue & green play off one another. i know what you mean about feeling like a novice with some of the talent that’s out there…but when you get a shot & it comes out in a way that blows YOU away…celebrate that!! you most definitely have talent. =)

thanks for stopping by my blog & commenting on mine too. =)

Your a great photographer, your first shot was so lonely and then I read the caption and it was sad.

enjoyed your pics ~ all of ’em! I’m a sucker for blue sky and green photos of nature though, I must admit. Thanks for sharing!

  16. Juliabohemian Says:

that picture of the doll is very editorial. my husband is a ceiling fan merchandiser and he always notices them, everywhere we go and even when we watch movies “look” he’ll say “it’s one of ours.”

  17. Susan Says:

Oh wow. These are all great. But that first one…

    I played.
