A few weeks ago I ordered a new slow cooker, got it in and the lid had a small dent in it. Several of you commented that I should definitely do something about it. I did finally email the company to see if I could get a new lid…a nice lady emailed back and said I’d have to send the whole thing back, then they would ship me a new one. I took them up on that, especially since they paid for all the shipping and it didn’t cost me anything else! So the second slow cooker came in yesterday and I briefly wondered if I would get one that had something worse than a dent in the lid. This one appears to be just fine but I haven’t used it yet… I better check it out to see if it works!

I planned my menus earlier this week but so far have cooked nothing that was planned! Monday I figured we better have fish while Liz wasn’t here because she SO doesn’t like it. Then I forgot that we were going out to eat for a friend’s birthday party on Tuesday and tonight is church supper! Hopefully tomorrow I’ll try this west bend out to make sure it truly works.
Over the last couple of months I’ve used my big crock pot while I was without this smaller one. But TWO times in the last couple of weeks I’ve been all organized, gotten my meal put in early and felt good about being on the ball only to get home from church or wherever and found that I never plugged the darn thing in! Argh! I hate it when I do things like that.
Apparently I need a new brain to go with the new slow cooker, because this one isn’t going to work if I don’t plug it in. 🙂

The first crockpot I ever had was like this one, and I loved it, with the pot separate from the base. It was so easy to clean. I am laughing WITH you on not plugging it in!

I’ve never seen a crockpot like yours. I like it! I miss my crockpot. It’s in storage in CA, until we get to our permanent base in GA. It’s wierd not having all our stuff, but at the same time it’s an adventure!

That looks nice! I’m so glad you sent the other one back and got a good one. I like the design of this lid more than the one I still have and you had before, with the glass “handles” at the end. The knob on top looks better and easier to work with. You’ll have to let me know if you like it the same, more or less! 🙂

What are you making in it? Trying anything new or one of your old stand-by’s?! I am wanting to do more in my crockpot or West Bend now that the weather is a bit cooler. I always want to make soup this time of year! I really struggled today in the store on buying white potatoes vs sweet potatoes. With russets, I kept thinking, I can make potato soup or cheeseburger soup! But I bought 2 sweets instead. Boo-hoo 🙁

P.S. Remember to plug this one in! And let me know if it gets as hot as the old one…

That’s exactly why I make very “loose” meal plans, Gail. My plans almost never work out.

I do things like that all the time. As as matter of fact, just this morning I ran a whole load of laundry – and I forgot to put the clothes in the washer. Sigh.

Ooohh a new crockpot, that makes me smile 🙂

You know I’ve done things like that before, I loaded the dishwasher, put in the detergent and then closed the door and walked away only to open it next morning with the dishes all dirty LOL

That looks like mom’s… speaking of mom… she looked at my mpm and saw that I was making spaghetti because she had asked me to make it and make extra for her and dad. I completely forgot and had to run out and get supplies for a huge batch of spaghetti. Then she ended up making dinner for my brother who is moving into a new house. She said they still ate and enjoyed the spaghetti… weird. I’m not sure I like my mom reading my blog 🙂

Oh how fun to have a new slow cooker…or as they use to be called when I was growing up, crock pot! 😀
    Have fun with that!

Ohhhh I like and it’s getting to be slower cooker weather 🙂

Congrats on your new crock pot! I love coming home to the smell of the delicious food from the crock pot. It does make you feel so organized and in control but I’m like you… I’ve forgotten to plug it in. UGH! What a disappointment! I hope you enjoy.

Wow, they replaced the whole thing! I’m glad they did it with no fuss for you!

I love new items for the kitchen. And you are not the only one who forgets to plug things up and boy do I want to kick myself for that.
