A busy week, and I think everyone seems to be having those lately! A quick recap of things we’ve had going on.
* We need rain!
* Oldest son broke his wrist….playing church basketball! He has a cast that he’ll have to wear from 2-6 weeks and I think it’s hampering him from doing a lot of things right now. I asked if he got a colored cast and he said yes, black. That’s not a color, especially for summer!
* Married daughter in Charlotte called about a week ago and told us they are moving back to Mississippi! YAY! They’ll live just under 2 hours from us instead of that 11-12 hours that it has been…..and the babies will be close enough for me to snap away from them sometime! I hope they let me.
* I finished the last of many burps the girls hired me to make and some other sewing projects, it feels good to be through. Pictures coming soon I think but I’m afraid it’ll be too many to show. 🙂
* We watched the movie August Rush this week; a little bit tear jerky but I kinda liked it. Hubby and E didn’t like it quite as much as they’d hoped to.
* New credit card just came in….we had to cancel it again for the 2nd time in 3 months. Some unnamed person lost his billfold. I hate being without it!
* I hope I’ve learned a lesson….

don’t leave a potholder on top of the ceramic cooktop, with a cookie sheet on top of potholder. I have a bad habit of doing that…..then the wrong burner got turned on and the potholder burned onto both the cooktop and cookie sheet.. Been cleaning on it this week but still can’t get it all off. I’ve used Weiman glass cooktop cleaner but haven’t tried their cleaning pads yet. I’ll link to them hopefully here. Know anything about these pads or anyone had experience with a burned cooktop?
Gotta toss this cookie sheet!

* Look, maybe I CAN learn a lesson…. last night when I made a casserole for supper, I put the potholder on the countertop instead! Yay me.

* We need rain! It’s been lightly sprinkling here but I’m afraid it’s going to stop before it really rains and did I mention, we need rain? Hubby needs it to give them a break with service calls from all the farmers. The farmers need it. And my yard and plants need it! Otherwise I’m going to have to take the new credit card to the store and buy hoses and sprinklers to drag around the yard, my yard is way too big for that. Mr. Yard Spraying Man sprayed our yard for weeds this week; I had no idea he’d done that but noticed the grass looks like it’s dying. He came around to get paid today and I told him it looked like he killed it, he said he didn’t! I think I beg to differ Mr. Yard Spraying Man!

The rain has already stopped….please send me it my way!
What do you have planned fun for the weekend?

oh what’s going on, what’s going on?

    You know what? When we moved into this house our stove had some small burn spots on it…mom and I tried everything….we could not get the burns off. I even called the manufacturer to see how much a new top would cost….too much…I’ll just wait for it to die and buy a new one…it looks bad…but not that bad. If you figure something out let me know. Also you will have to post this recipe….it looks wonderful.
    Hooray for daughter moving back to Mississippi….and sorry about oldest son and his black cast…bad color choice I agree…maybe for winter but not summer…have a good weekend gal….

    Ouch, hopefully your son’s wrist heals quickly. I didn’t realize how much of a contact sport basketball really was until my daughter was on various teams.

    I’m finally glad the rain has stopped around here. Two weeks worth was enough for me but our hills are sure nice and green now.

    A lot going on there!
    Your casserole looks yummy.
    It’s been raining a lot here!
    I wish I could send you some.

    My goodness you have a huge yard! Lots to water! That’s great news about your daughter moving closer. How nice for both of you:) Have a wonderful weekend, Gail.

    Wow, that is alot going on!!
    A black cast, huh?? Hmmm….hope he doesn’t have to spend alot of time outdoors.
    I’m so happy for you that your daughter is moving back to MS. Just where are they moving to, may I ask? And I’m sure they’ll let you steal those kids away for a night or two. They would be out of their minds not to! 😉
    We need rain, too. We had a large chance today, and it only rained enough to wet the concrete. Certainly not enough to water the garden and new sod. The sun has come back out now. 🙁

    I didn’t know Trent broke his wrist, poor thing. I hope it heals soon. We’re really excited that K & J are moving back. We were talking about it with Liz and Chris today, how much fun it’s going to be to have them back and have them over to eat and play games. We miss them 🙂

    E showed me the burp clothes you made for Robbie, very cute!

    We haven’t gotten any rain here. I ran the water and sprinkles for almost 3 hours this morning and it’s still fairly dry. Hope you guys get some rain, b/c I know Don needs a break. Hope he gets some rest and takes it easy, as much as he can.

    🙂

    So sorry about your cooktop! That sounds like something I would do!

    I am so glad your family is moving closer. I know you will be so thankful to have them near. My parents just bought a lot about an hour away from us. They are still in CA for a little while longer, but we have the hope of things to come!

    Hooray for closer grandbabies!!

    It was good to find out more about you with the meme…and get an update, too!
    Oh, that scorched potholder\cookie sheet looks nasty! LOL But I remember when I was a young adult living at home, my mom had those pretty burner covers on her stove and I accidentally turned on the wrong burner and…you get the idea!
    (The casserole looks SO yummy, by the way!) 🙂
