When the new baby was born almost 2 months ago, my DIL found a diaper pouch she wanted us to make. Since I haven’t had babies in a bit I wasn’t all that familiar with them; but it’s something to put in your purse or bag that holds 3 or so diapers and maybe a small travel case of wipes. It sounded really handy! That ended up being the one and only thing we sewed while I was visiting! I didn’t do any prep stuff or check out the instructions but should have. Figuring out patterns is not always my strong suit. The directions said about half an hour of time… um yeah, that didn’t happen. It seemed like it took all 3 of us half a day or more to get it all done…..there were kids and babies around but I still felt not very bright at all. Shanna picked out some cute fabric, I’m hoping she’ll be able to use this pouch as well because I think in the long run it looks ok.

I had thought this might be a cute item I could make and keep around here for gifts. Now I’m not sure I want to tackle it again! Of course it might bug me til I figure out how to do it another way. But here’s her finished product.

cute polka dot lining fabric and see, it keeps the diapers in one little spot in your purse!

Ever seen this or used it before? Or better yet, anyone made them and have any suggestions? I’m open to any help or directions! A few of you sew way better than me!

That’s really cute and a neat idea. Better than lugging around a big diaper bag if you don’t need it.

It looks pretty straight forward and easy. Is it all one piece or are there side seams? The lining might be tricky.

Oh, that’s adorable! I wish I would have had one when mine were babies…but I can’t sew a lick! 😉

    (So glad you’re back!) 🙂

Well that’s really cute and very functional too! I think you should figure out the pattern and sell it to all of us other grandma’s that sew!

That is so cute! I love that fabric 🙂

Don’t sell yourself short, you sew like a champ and everything you do looks good. Now that you’ve done the first one, I would bet any subsequent ones would go quickly. I think you should make another one or two to have or give as gifts. You know there’s going to be more babies on the horizon!

I’ve seen them, but none as cute as that! Great job!

I’ve never heard of those before. It’s one of those things that seems so obvious once you see it that you just have to say, “Why didn’t I think of that?!!” Well, even if it took half a day to make, it sure looks worth it, because it is just as adorable as could be!

By the way, did you get any sleep last night?
