A few weeks back when E was home one weekend we went to a chinese place for lunch. They always bring fortune cookies when we’re done, which Don and I hardly ever look at…..he doesn’t like them much and I think the fortunes are never really fortunes. E opened hers and read it and told me to see what mine said. Imagine my surprise when I got one that I thought was a “real” one for once and a good one to boot! I couldn’t wait to show it to hubby but he’s sorta been less than enthusiastic about it. I took it home, posted it on the fridge and I might blow it up and put it on his mirror!

Now that’s what I’m talking about! I could go for that…..although I’ve apparently talked about it just a wee bit too much. Hubby has sort of not been listening to me, then making some vague remark about it being in some other state until finally one day this–he told me that piece of paper might be talking about my eternal home! Ok, thanks honey! Guess I’ll quit now (although I might still post it on his mirror)
Yesterday we ate chinese again; we seem to be creatures of habit. And I got another good one:

Why oh why couldn’t this fortune be what one of my kids had gotten! They might need the reminder. 😉

But to know that you love me
Brings fame and fortune my way

I hope you won’t be going to your eternal home this year, but that response made me laugh. Very creative!

Oh your husband – he’s a funny one!

FUnny. Most of them are pretty dumb but for some reason I save them in my wallet for a while. But I got a good one today – “You are offered the dream of a lifetime – say YES!” That is taped to my desk at work . . . although I’m really not a believer in good luck 😉

    Yikes!

Hmmm…wonder if I could print some of those bottom ones up and covertly slip them into my kids’ fortune cookies…

Last fall, my husband got one that said “You are next in line for promotion.” He saved it and put it in the big tenure package he had to put together. Luckily, the people at his college had a good sense of humor!

Very funny. Some of those fortunes may mean something. Who knows.

We love the fortunes in fortune cookies! We love eating with chopsticks and getting our fortune at the end. We even collected them for a LONG time, and I entered them on Hambones. We have a whole section that is fortune cookies, and it will generate you one from ours that we collected 🙂

These are good – but I hope Don is not right about the eternal home! I know you want a new home, but you definitely have an awesome home now, I’d give anything to have a big beautiful house like yours! Well, except maybe I would want to pay to cool it and want to clean it every week 🙂

Glad you got to come, I had a great time!

LOL! That was a witty comeback he had there. If it were made to made, I probably would have responded by making a face. Hee hee.

I wander who comes up with all those. Funny!

I love reading fortunes and my kids get a real kick out of them. They are usually pretty wonky so we just laugh. However, it would have been very cool for my kids to get your second fortune! LOL!

Oh that second one made me laugh out loud. I need about 3 copies of those!
