Today is Stacy’s birthday and I don’t see it at the top of the Hambones home page, so I will put something on my blog about it. Come and play Stacy and hopefully everyone else will play along too!

1. How do you usually celebrate your birthday?

2. What is your favorite flavor of cake?

3. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

4. Have you ever completely forgotten the birthday of a family member or friend?

5. What was the most memorable birthday party you’ve attended?

Birthday girl goes first, then everyone else play along! Post early Stacy!

    OK, I’ll play along!!

    1. How do you usually celebrate your birthday? By doing whatever I want to do! When I was working, I tried to take the day off and do whatever I wanted. I always go out to eat these days and get the day off from cooking, too šŸ™‚

    2. What is your favorite flavor of cake? Umm, toughie. How about CHOCOLATE?!!

    3. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream? Chocolate, but with chocolate cake, I’d rather have french vanilla

    4. Have you ever completely forgotten the birthday of a family member or friend? I don’t think so, not that I can remember! But maybe I forgot šŸ™‚

    5. What was the most memorable birthday party youā€™ve attended? I haven’t been to many birthday parties, nothing is really standing out

    Thanks Gail!

this one is harder, because Iā€™m sure there must be something but itā€™s not coming to mind right now either!
Well, kind of a sad thing that happened to us when the kids were youngerā€¦..we were going to have the first kind of ā€œrealā€ birthday party for Trent when he was three years old. At that time, several of us moms had read a book that sort of recommended having as guests the number of years the child was, so in our case 3 were invited! It was January, very cold and lots of kids had been sick but we didnā€™t know that or realize it. So, the 3 that were invited didnā€™t come! Not one of them! They were all sick and none of them told us they couldnā€™t come probably because they didnā€™t realize only a few had been invited. And it was sad because Trent kept staying at the window wanting to know when they were coming and when we were gonna have a party! Needless to say, I never used that rule again of having the number of guests of how old the child was, kinda went back to inviting most all of the class (which was what we were trying to break away from!)
A few days later, we tried again and invited people over and had a party but the main memory of that one was of no one coming and my poor little baby standing at the window looking for someone to come to his party!

awww, the idea of Trent standing at the window all sad and looking for his buddies and no one coming to his birthday party is heartbreaking! Not like the Smurfs story, which I like better šŸ˜€

  4. Gail Says:

Yeah, maybe I should delete this one? The Smurfs story is pretty funny……..but has nothing to do with birthdays!

  5. Stacy Says:

No, don’t delete it! Silly girl! šŸ˜€

  6. Suzanne Says:

I don’t know the Smurf story. That probably still haunts Trent….
    Here’s mine.
I usually celebrate my birthday by working. This year is no exception.
    2. Chocolate cake
    3. vanilla ice cream with choc. cake. but my fav. now is Choc. marshmellow from our local ice cream store, Oberweis Dairy.
    4. Yes I am sure I have forgotten Gails in the past and was horrible about remembering her kids. (so there you have it, a confession).
    5. Fav. party – a surprise party at work for my 40th…..black balloons, old photo in the paper, posted all around the Clarion Ledger, everything.
