I spent yesterday afternoon at the clinic with hubby…….he got sick last weekend, tried to see a doctor on Monday but they were so busy they just never answered the phone. He went to work in TN and had a prescription for tamiflu called in to him there but by the time he got home he was feeling really bad with a cough that was just wearing him down. And I don’t love the waiting room because I always feel like I’m going to get sick from that! Our neighbor/friend who is a doctor was back home from a spring break trip; he checked him out and did xrays. Don has pneumonia in both lungs, ouch! He got 2 shots, lots of antibiotics and sent home to bed. And they told me to take the rest of the tamiflu medicine, so I hope that’s enough to keep me from getting it as well. I don’t feel very good either but maybe that’s just because I know he’s sick and I could get it! My mind plays tricks on me sometimes. I bought gatorade, drinks and soup stuff and I’m already tired from going up and down the stairs! He goes back Monday for another xray to make sure he’s getting better.
It’s cloudy here now after some rain moved through, I’m hoping it clears up later on. I might be mostly housebound this weekend! What are you doing that’s fun?

Oh, poor hubby! I hope all those drugs kick in soon and he’s feeling much better. And that you don’t come down with anything! Right now both my mom and I are sick with the creeping crud, too. So mostly what I’m doing that’s fun is guzzling NyQuil and then sleeping off the hangover that gives me. 😉

Oh my goodness, how awful! I do hope he has a quick and full recovery…and that you manage to avoid it all! I’ll be thinking of you all…keep us up-to-date, okay?

  3. Stacy Says:

Hope he gets better soon and that you don’t get the flu. Get plenty of fluids in him and all of that medicine. Let us know if you guys need anything.

P.S. You’re getting lots of good exercise, running up and down the stairs!!!

That’s awful Gail. I sure hope you don’t get it… and that he is well soon too!

  5. Sandra Says:

Oh that’s horrible Gail, I’ve said a prayer and will continue to do so. Hope he feels better soon.

  6. Stacy (the other one) Says:

Oh no!! That’s terrible. I hope your body is ready to fight so you don’t get sick too.

Why don’t you enjoy a good movie…like “Serenity”. (hint, hint) It’s a fun space, western.

I’m about to go curl up in the swing with a good book!

  7. Lynne Says:

I hope his antibiotics kick in quickly. Double pneumonia is nothing to laugh about. Take care of yourself too – you don’t need to be getting sick either.

Plenty of fluids, rest and wash your hands!

  8. Becky Says:

Oh my. Well I am having much more fun than you. I sure hope your husband gets the rest he needs and feels better soon. I had that flu turned to pneumonia a few years back and it was awful. I feel his pain.

    Take care of yourself.

  9. Susanne Says:

Oh no. That’s hard. Hope he feels better soon!

Thanks for leaving me encouraging comments Gail even though I have not been able to comment so much here. Just wanted to let you know I have been reading though.

  11. Karen Says:

I hope this all passes quickly for both of you. Take care of yourself, so that you don’t get rundown, too.

  12. Kim Says:

Oh dear! I hope he is feeling better soon and that you don’t get it! That pesky flu is still flying around here too. I have had one kid out of school since last Wednesday and plan to keep him out one more day-tomorrow-just to make sure he is really good and ove it. I don’t want any relapses.
Drink that gatorade or water or whatever like a good girl and get lots of rest.

Ugh. I have had pneumonia twice. *Not* fun. Hope you guys are on the mend!

  14. Claire Says:

Oh, I hope he gets better soon. My roommate had pneumonia a couple of weeks ago and she sounded like she was about to cough up her lungs. She’s better now, so he’ll recover. Just don’t breathe in when ya’ll kiss to keep those bugs out! 😉

  15. jen Says:

Wow…double! Double wammy. Not good but glad to hear is on the road to recovery. I’m praying for you both.
