A couple of weeks ago I was talking on the phone with my DIL while she was packing for them to go on a short vacation to Galveston; they had time for a quick trip before school started. She put Grayson on the phone, he started telling me he was going on vacation. Then he asked me, “are you going to miss me?” I told him YES that I would miss him but that I miss him everyday! He told me, “you can come to my house to see me then…..but don’t come this week because I’m on vacation!” I’ve had such fun talking about that conversation…..I thought it was so cute that he thought I’d miss him because he was gone but don’t think he’s figured out that I miss him all the time because we live so far away!
I think they did have fun………this is Grayson and Ava Clair on an excursion one day during the vacation
Then he called me again just a little over a week ago…….
This time he told me as soon as I got on the phone….
“my mama is going to have a baby!” He jabbered some more, not sure if I’d caught everything correctly and Ava Clair got on the phone and said something about her mama and a baby. I figured then that they must have the correct story! I did finally talk to the grownups and got all the news again, so we’re looking forward to another little one in our family in the late spring. 😀
I haven’t seen these little sweeties since early June and I miss them; I’m hoping to get out there sometime this month. Grayson turned 5 over the weekend and we talked to him on the phone for his birthday. T & SK were telling us that he’s been asking questions about the baby and how it eats, etc. They’ve told him little things and told him basically that the baby eats what mama eats. Shanna had been wanting to get some green tea to drink and when she’d had it one night Grayson came up and asked her how the baby liked the green tea because it was the first time he’d had it! I love how their little minds work!
And I do miss them every day!

Oh, how much fun that must be and how much you must just long for them when you are so far away.
Congratulations on the news. That is exciting to plan for a new one.
I love Grayson’s questions and how his little mind works. Sometimes I just look at kids that age and wonder what they must be thinking. Of course, really, at his age they just come right out and tell you what they’re thinking 🙂

Congratulations, Gail, on your new grandbaby. How fun–I am looking forward to those days–but I’m not wishing the present days away. I love his “Will you miss me?” question. So very sweet.

Congratulations! I guess that was a phone call you will truly treasure! My mom is coming in a few weeks, and we haven’t seen her since June. My kids will be bouncing off the walls to see their Grammy. I am sure yours will feel the same way!
