Most of you probably know that I took a girl’s trip last week, with both daughters and my sweet daughter in law. SK’s little girl called it a “woman’s” trip though because if it was a girls trip then she was supposed to have gone. 😆 Maybe she can go when she gets a bit bigger. We went to Las Vegas, survived the heat and had lots of fun! I’ve been working on getting my pictures transferred from my camera, in between bouts of my internet service going out! They’re on the extended page in case you want to browse……

Liz and I flew from Jackson to Houston and SK got on the plane there and flew out with us. Our chatty male flight attendant took this for us!

We stayed at the MGM Grand….in the big green tower at the back

The hotel was actually quite close to the airport, you can see the runways toward the top of the pic above the row of buildings…..the dome shape at the bottom of the picture is the hotel lobby

Our hotel had CBS TV city in it, with screening rooms and we previewed a fall tv show. Ate supper and went out on the strip the first night to see the fountains.

Just seeing all the hotels was something, many of them are themed…..the New York hotel outside looks like the skyline of New York

They have a Statue of Liberty and Brooklyn Bridge

I was so taken with this one, the Venetian…..this is inside in the shops area and it looks like your outside with the ceiling painted to look like sky. It was so pretty

And we did the gondola ride, since I might not ever get to do the real thing!
SK and E with our gondolier and me with Kat below

The Mirage has this fountain during the day…….

that erupts as a volcano various times each night. The fire was hot!

The Forum Shops, attached to Caesar’s Palace

We also shopped at M&M’s World, 4 levels with tons of merchandise & one huge wall of different colored m&m’s that you don’t always see in stores……the m&m’s might have to be their own story one day!

Our hotel had a lion habitat in it…..they brought the lions in each day and it was fun to watch them.

The Bellagio was just gorgeous on the inside and I don’t think any of my pictures do it justice. The ceiling in the lobby is interesting & very colorful, the 2nd shot is a close up of it.

We spent a couple of hours each afternoon at the pool but I don’t think I got a shot of any of the 4 pools at our hotel. And one day we took in the Titanic exhibit, E has loved almost anything to do with Titanic for quite a few years now, we enjoyed it too. Except that was the day the strap on my black sandals broke, the ones I wear with everything and now I need new ones. 😥

On Friday night we got dressed up and went to Cirque du Soleil…..the show was fabulous! I loved it, almost best of all, and I think the girls enjoyed it too.

I had the best time just being with them! It was a great trip and we hope to do it again sometime, to a new place maybe. I love them and glad they’re my family!

This one’s for the girls, who’ve wished upon a shooting star, you’re beautiful the way you are

(I think this is one of my favorite shots!)

Your pictures are fabulous! Dan and I went to Vegas last year — first time for me. It’s just a different world, isn’t it? The shopping mall at the Venetian was so cool. It seems to go on and on and you really feel like you’re outdoors.

I love your choice of song! I used to blast it for the carpool last school year — there were four of us “girls” and my son — the only boy. It drove him crazy, but it got the rest of the car pumped up for school!

What beautiful girls. Women .. I mean. And what a fabulous time to share together.

I have never been out west, any further than Fort Collins, CO, but would love to go someday. Those hotels are over the top aren’t they? I cannot believe what they do for the tourists. Amazing! So glad you had fun.

BTW, I knew you had done the grapes for the names. I had seen it. I was just filling my quota with those I enjoy … and you were one of them.

What a fun trip! I have been to LV a few times on business trips with my hubby. One of the only hotels I didn’t go into was the Venetian, and I wish I had. I also didn’t go to the M&M place. How did I miss that?

This post made me want to go to Vegas so bad–I’ve only passed through–staying the night at an AF base there (Nellis). It looks like it would be a fun time–so cool that you were able to go with the girls in your family. I hope I can do that with mine when they get older. Fun, fun.
