Our bible school ended at noon each day this week and then afterward a group of us got together to eat lunch……every. single. day! One of my friends had a 3 year old grandson with her and it sorta kept him entertained some by eating out. We went to Wendy’s and the Pizza Hut buffet on 2 different days, then to a couple of local coffeeshop/cafe type places for 2 other days. On Fridays we always have a program for parents at church and feed everyone hot dogs, chips, dessert. I’m glad today was the last day because I CAN’T keep eating out all the time, it’s just not good for me! But everyone told me, “we don’t do this but once a year”! And they’re right, most of them work or teach school and we don’t do these kinds of things except maybe once during the summer. So it was fun to eat together and catch up with each other! My waist or hips might pay for it next week
though. 😳
I’m a little glad bible school is over; it was a very long week. Got all the decorations torn back down and the Sunday school rooms put back together. We hope we taught them a little more about Jesus in the process.
But this little piggy needs to stay home, for a few days anyway!

Sounds like a good week. I would gain about 10 pounds in one meal at the Pizza Hut buffet!

VBS is always fun, but I am also always relieved when it is over! Lots of work and lots of kids with LOTS of energy!

LOL! What fun, though! Adults need to enjoy summer fun, too. Eating out for lunch together sounds like perfect summer fun to me, LOL!!

Mmm, I could stand to eat out every day for a week. Of course, if I did, I probably couldn’t stand UP at the end of the week. 😉

Glad VBS went so well! Now get some rest!

Hey, if you called yourself a piggy, do I get to call you that too?! *snort* 🙂

Seriously, glad it all went well and you got to go out and “do lunch” every day with your friends. Like they said, you guys don’t get to do this very often.

    Now, go get some rest!

I used to help out with VBS back when I lived in Connecticut & didn’t have a full time job demanding all my time. It was a lot of fun. I always worked in the nursery though — babysitting for the volunteers infants & toddlers that were too young to attend the “classes.” =)

You and Stacy crack me up…
I’m glad your vbs was a success.
I think it is great to have a special week, even if you have to watch it closer next week!

Glad it went well this week…and I can imagine you’re glad to relax a bit now!
I have never actually volunteered yet- maybe because I home school so VBS is like a little mini-breather for me each summer! LOL But I just love what they learn and do and how they have so much fun in the process!

Glad to hear you survived your busy, hectic week! I was always amazed that you found time to post all week…you must be a true dynamo!

I love eating out with friends but, you’re right, it can leave you feeling yucky! I do love the fellowship though!

I’m glad you had a good Vacation Bible School!

  11. Susanne Says:

Eating out everyday would start to get hard. My kids used to love the vacation bible school when they were small and I tell you, I sure appreciated anybody who would donate of their time to do that for kids.

You’re too funny. The title of this post cracked me up. I’m sure you’re exaggerating.

I know what you mean about being glad VBS is over. I taught VBS way, way back when I was 16! I loved it but it was always a relief when it was over. Seemed like that’s when summer really began.
