Floats, frosty and frappuccinos, OH MY!
I’ve seen so many commercials lately for a frosty float from Wendy’s that I’ve been wanting to try it. Thought I’d get one Wednesday to take on the plane but alas, there was no Wendy’s in the airport! When Stacy picked me up in Jackson we went shopping for a while and of course landed in one of our favorite spots, Target. Lots of times we go first to the Starbucks counter in the front of the store for a specialty coffee but it’s been too hot lately. However Stacy said she’d been wanting to try their new summer drink, Orange Creme Frappuccino.

I’m not a huge fan of something “orangey” to drink but these were very good and refreshing. I liked mine better when I mixed up the whipped cream into the drink! I did NOT need to know the calories when Stacy looked it up later. 😆 I live almost 90 miles away from the closest Starbucks so this isn’t something I’d have very often. I do have Wendy’s so I might have to try their frosty float soon! And, GASP, I forgot to go to Sonic last night for the FREE root beer floats! I’m not a root beer drinker but thought maybe it might be good in a float. Did any of you get the free float last night? I’m feeling very deprived right now. 😥

I love orange stuff but can’t stand coffee. LOL!

I didn’t know Sonic was having free floats last night until my husband and I went up for our frequent Fresh Cherry Lime Slush. We pulled in and they were busier than usual. When we ordered, she asked if we also wanted free floats. I don’t like root beer, either, so we got 2 and brought them back for the girls.

I missed the free root beer floats, but my son and his friend went. Dang it, I LOVE rootbeer floats! Those orangy Starbucks drinks are to die for! It’s too sweet for me to drink a whole one, but love the free samples. Now, the reduced fat coffee cake in the same flavor — ahhh! Can you tell I’m a Starbuck’s junkie? Yeah, I pay $3.50 for a cup of coffee, so what’s it to ya?

Those frapps were good, and I am probably going to try the mocha (coffee) one before the summer is out. We’ll have to go to our new dedicated Starbucks that just opened the next time you come down. Cushy sofas inside and fun stuff 🙂

I haven’t tried the Wendy’s one, so let me know if it’s any good. We missed the free root beer floats too. But I bought a pint of vanilla ice cream to make us root beer floats a couple of weeks ago. We’ll have to have another one soon. I love root beer floats, Coke floats, all of those. Never met one I didn’t like 🙂

Oo-oo, Starbucks is a ways from me, too, but if I get the chance I’m going to try the mocha one Stacy is talking about above.
The hubs and son loaded up at 8:10 and went to Sonic last night. The daughter and I don’t do floats really. But they said it was covered up and they witnessed a fender-bender that was gonna happen when free ice cream is involved. 😉 Now that I think about it, I wonder if I could have ordered a float without the root beer??!! 😉
    Sorry you missed it!

I saw the Sonic add for free root bear float on Thursdays and told Patt we had to go, but it’s to far to drive so we stayed at home 🙁 Yep I was sad…I really wanted one. Don’t know where we’re going for lunch yet but we may have to stop at either the starbucks, or the wendy’s float on the way back to the office. Now I want one really really bad 🙂

    Yum, all those sound wonderful!

Can you believe I’ve never been to Starbucks? Not once! Dom likes to go out in the morning for coffee, but we always go to either McDonalds for 55 cent senior coffee or Chick-Fil-A where senior coffee is free! The man is cheap!! I didn’t know that Starbucks had things other than coffee and pastries.

And how come I didn’t know about Sonic’s free root beer floats? Was it at all Sonic’s or just in your neck of the woods?

  8. Becky Says:

Rats! Completely forgot about the Sonic free root beer float. Are they doing that again or is it a one time deal? Root beer floats are a memory of my chidhood. My grandma used to make them for me when I stayed all night with her on Friday nights. It was a great tradition.

I obviously live in the wrong place as I have not seen anything about Wendy’s Frosty floats and I am pretty sure our Sonic didn’t ahve free floats last night! At least we do have a Starbuck’s not too far away – thanks for the tip about the yummy looking orange frapps!

Oh my…that looks heavenly! I love orange stuff to drink! I’ve never been to Starbucks…too afraid of the prices to get hooked. But that may just change my mind!

Those look pretty good, but only if the orange isn’t real orange juice…Mom got a lowfat strawberry smoothie at panera yesterday. It looked pretty…
Amanda and her friend went for the free sonic floats. They said the carhops were walking around with trays handing them out. They were the size of the kid meal drink. She enjoyed it. She loves to go to starbucks and always gets something with caramel that is frozenish? I don’t know the name of it but do know when she takes my debit card I cannot believe it only paid for one drink when I see the receipt! :o)

  12. sandra Says:

Oh they look so good, I actually LOVE orange flavor so this is a must try for me.

I had no idea Wendy’s had floats, where have I been hding? LOL

    that sounds like quite yummy

Just a heads up Gail. The Enger book is wonderful. I think it is a frustrated writer’s good read. His words just trip off the page in such richness. I find myself reading lines over again, not because I don’t understand them, but because I just love the sound of them. He’s good. The story is good. I am halfway through and can’t find the time I really want to finish it off. So it is worth it and I’m not even done yet 🙂

    mmmm! those look so good.
