Our oldest son Trent has lived in Houston for about 2 years now with his sweet wife and 2 little ones. In that time he’s had his car stolen from work, in which the police told him it was across the border and wouldn’t be found! But they did find it, declared it a total loss although he didn’t get enough money to buy something new. So he sorta had it fixed up. Once Don was driving it when we visited and out of the clear blue the radio would come on, loud, and there was no way to control it or turn it off and on! He’s had his briefcase stolen from work with his ring and billfold in it. And been in at least one fender bender so that now the driver’s side door doesn’t work and he gets in/out through the passenger side! Now the car is doing a new trick for him; he’ll be driving home from work, stop about a mile or so from home to pick up something from the store, go back to crank the car and it won’t crank at all. So he’ll get a ride home and they go back later to pick it up when it will start. We’ve told him a couple of things to check on for that but last week that happened to him again. Shanna and the kids had to load up to run pick him up. Grayson plays occasionally with a little boy across the street. That day the little boy was outside and asked if Grayson could play with him. Grayson said he couldn’t because they were going to pick up his dad. The little boy asked him why they were going to pick up his dad………..to which Grayson replied, “because his car is a piece of junk!”
(Wonder if he’s heard that before!)

Don and I have been laughing about it ever since, although I am sorry that they’re having so much trouble and wish they could have a new car. 😀
They sent us some new pictures last night so I’m using one today, maybe more later.

I got those pictures too and they are all so cute! They’ve gotten so big since we’ve seen them.

Oh, and I bet he’s heard someone, somewhere, call T’s car a piece of junk, but you never know. Kids do say the darndest things 🙂

He is so cute! It’s so funny that they say things after us (sometimes it’s not so funny–I have to watch my words very closely!!) I’m sorry they are having so much trouble with their car.

The picture is great!! Have a great day!

He,he!! I hope they’ll be able to get a newer car soon! I hate it when my car starts to act up, and things just pile on. I once was driving a “grandma” car, which was a gift from God, but it drove me crazy with all it’s quirks. So I prayed for it to “die”, and IT DID! We bought a new SUV, and I HATE THE PAYMENTS! I’m not to the point of wanting a “grandma” car, but I think I’ve learned a lesson.

Good grief. Where on earth does he work that he’s had his car AND his briefcase and ring stolen from work.

Poor guy. That car must “drive” him crazy.

Your grandson is a cutie pie!

I am sorry about the car as well, but that is very funny!

Your grandson is a cutie! I know, I know, I haven’t been around in a while, but hopefully that will all change. We’re almost settled into our new home. I’ve missed reading your blog and will be back tomorrow for more.
