Here in Mississippi the azaleas have been blooming the last couple of weeks. I don’t have any in my yard and for some reason have never really had a desire to have them. But I do think they are pretty when in full bloom. I mostly see pink ones, although there is a darker almost red color that I like a lot too. This shot is of an azalea bush that one of my friends has in her yard. We were there a little over a week ago to pick them up and they asked me to take some pictures of it for them. I’m glad I did because they have just about quit blooming by now; I think they bloom for about 2 weeks in our area.

And this is what the same bush looks like today…… it didn’t look so good in person after the rain we got here last night. The flowers have faded and look sort of wilted. I don’t like these pale looking flowers!

Yes, much prettier in the first photo!

How are you enjoying Phantom? I really liked that book.

Geez…I’m with Suzanne, still waiting for those early spring bloomers like my tulips and daffodils. (But with more snow tonight, I guess I’ll have to wait a little longer.)

I think azaleas are beautiful but they don’t bloom for very long. I am loving the spring time though! I love all the blooms!

We don’t have any in our yard either, but I love them. I have thought of planting them in our back flower bed that we need to redo. I wish they would bloom longer though, but they are just gorgeous when they do bloom 🙂

You know, I’m with you in respect to azaleas. I don’t much want them in my yard (we actually pulled them all up when we moved in to our house 10 years ago) but they are pretty everywhere else. I think it’s because they are so common. Anyway…..
Can I be so nosey as to ask what part of MS are you from? I might need to come by for some Strawberry Trifle. 😉

What a difference between the two. The one is so beautiful!
