Guess this goes against being a Southern girl but I have never really liked iced tea all that much! 😳 I don’t think I ever drank it much growing up, not that I recall anyway. When I got married I began to drink hot tea and have especially enjoyed it that way for years. Water is what I drink the majority of the time. A few years ago though I would start to drink tea just every once in a while, mostly when I made lemonade tea and I would try to use Crystal Light for the lemonade. A summer or two ago I would sporadically buy this stuff:

I got some last week and had forgotten that I really, REALLY like it! It also says on the label that it’s good hot so sometimes at night I’ll heat it up to sip while I’m in bed reading…..what a treat. I know it’s probably better to brew it yourself and I’m sure it must be more cost efficient too. Chris didn’t like it when he was here over the weekend, not sweet enough I think they told me. I think the reason that I do like it is because it didn’t taste overly sweet to me; this one is sweetened with honey according to the back.
But what I really liked seeing on the label was this:

I might just be buying this one a lot more this year! Gotta love anything that says no calorie!

Love that stuff too, and have a jug in the pantry. I don’t think we drank much tea growing up. When I met Tim, I didn’t drink tea at all. He introduced me to sweet tea, which I used to make all the time (with a couple of cups of real sugar). When we switched to a healthier eating regime, I gave up making sweet tea. I brewed it unsweet for a while, but he doesn’t like it like that. We drink a lot of the Crystal Light peach tea mixed up from the packet. Chris drinks it here! 🙂

Give me the high sugar stuff! I have always loved tea–my husband and son don’t. They come from a long line of men in the family that don’t drink tea! Glad you found yourself a special treat!

Ya’ll are crazy. We drank tea every night growing up!
I always had tea, sweet tea, in fact my Mother used to admonish me for adding so much sugar, make me fat, ya know.
And then I wanted to save my tea for when I was thru cleaning up the kitchen I could go on the patio and have another glass after dinner. But, she’d always want to dump out my glass.
Why can’t you all remember anything!!!!

I love southern sweet tea and I drink too much! I wish I didn’t like it as much as I do… way to many calories in mine. Enjoy the zero calories!

Well, I’m like you used to be. I don’t like tea…keep trying but just can;t. I don’t think it’s meant to be.

Shelby had me get her some of that tea. It’s good! I can’t make sweet tea at all, yet my daughter Susan can. At night I like to drink Russian tea. To make it, I mix about equal parts of Tang and diet lemon sweetened instant tea, then add some cinnamon and ground cloves. I don’t measure, just add enough to get the smell and flavor of the spices. I use about 4 teaspoons per big mug. If I’m counting WW points, it’s about 1/2 point per big mug (14 oz). Good!

I have to admit, sweet tea is one thing both Rich and I desperately miss since moving north! (That, and good Mexican restaurants!) We still drink a lot of tea though. And occasionally splurge by dumping a heap of Splenda in it!

No calorie…darn tootin’ I gotta get me some of that!

I recently visited my Sister in law in NC and ordered Iced tea…well I was in for a suprise. I didn’t realize how incredibly sweet it would be…here in Ontario Canada, iced tea is much differnt !!!

but no calorie is pretty tempting…

Gail – I see you’re reading Phantom now. I was just ready to start it when a library book came in, but it’s the next one to read.

I do like iced tea in the summertime…but not too sweet. I’m curious what the true southern version of “sweet tea” really is, though!
I do love that Arizona tea, too…but rarely drink any of it until summer!

I may have to try that. I saw some at the store just last week. I drink Kroger’s brand zero calorie Splenda sweetened tea in a jug just about every night with dinner 🙂

I LOVE sweet tea! In my neck of the woods, we have Milo’s tea and they make a type with Splenda. Ever since I had gestational diabetes with my last pregnancy, I have gone zero sugar on my drinks. I really enjoy the Milo’s Splenda Tea.
