We enjoyed a nice long weekend with 2 of our 4 kids being able to come home for Easter break. College daughter Elizabeth got in Thursday afternoon, as did her boyfriend Chris. College son David came in on Friday, with a mountain and a half of laundry! It’s got to be a crime to have that many t-shirts but I think they get them for every single event that ever goes on at school. My dad came on Saturday evening to attend church with us and visit a bit. They came in stages and left in stages! Dad usually leaves shortly after Sunday dinner when he comes; David left late Sunday afternoon after coercing people into folding his clothes. By the time it was almost dark E & Chris decided to spend the night and leave early, early this morning! E needed to be on the road by 5 a.m. and she’s now back in Alabama in class today. Chris left about an hour after her since he had a shorter drive. I’m feeling very lazy and really need to go walking but haven’t quite made myself go out in the cold yet.
Some photos of the weekend are on the extended page. Nothing super exciting; just standard family shots!

Saturday night C & E decided to bake triple chocolate brownies topped with chocolate frosting, probably because we only had 53 other sweet things in the house to eat.

When the kids were very young I spent almost every Saturday night before Easter sewing, trying to finish new dresses! They don’t want me to sew their clothes any more, but we do have to alter things so I did sew a bit on this dress she bought.

Saturday night, t-shirts…………

to Sunday morning, dressed up!

My table before food (I might have to buy flowers more often!)……….

………and during lunch.

What a good looking family! Glad you got to spoil your kids a little, even if it did mean doing his laundry. One day, sooner than I want, that will be me.

And what’s college son coming home without a mountain of laundry for Mom, right? 😉

Wow, you are just a beautiful family, Gail. I love these photos. I had to laugh at your son coming home with a ton of laundry. Boy, do I remember those days. Two girls in college at the same time, two girls coming home together and I’m telling you, it’s a wonder the motor in my washer didn’t overheat.

Sounds like you had a lovely but busy Easter. Time to relax! 🙂

You have a beautiful family. Great pictures. Sounds like a really nice Easter. We had both of daughters here for dinner – usually a tension-filled event, but not too bad this year.

Sorry! Don’t know any other words to this song than “Sweet Home Alabama!” 🙂 We took family pictures, too (to make Mama happy). The funny thing was that Daddy did them on timer with three pictures taken each time. The first set…all three pictures were EXACTLY the same except for the shadow from the ribbon on my dress. If you flip between them, our positions and faces don’t move! 🙂 Mama had to alter my dress as well. It was TOO LOW for me but it’s perfect now. Glad you got to visit with your family. BTW, I think Elizabeth and Chris are really cute together.
