I love to watch and was glad when they finally got around to “real” singing! But none of the guys really blew me away last night, so disappointing. And I want Chris Sligh to do so well but he’ll have to step it up. Phil Stacey started out shaky but ended pretty good. I thought Blake did the best, surprisingly! He can really sing; now if he gets back to the beat boxing I might not like it so much but from what I’m reading online, the consensus is that he did the best last night. I think I know who will be some of the ones with the lowest votes, from a site I found a couple of seasons ago. But I won’t give it away in case you like to be surprised!
I’d heard the judges say a few weeks ago that the girls had a lot of talent this year so I’m hoping that they’ll be more impressive tonight!
Chris Sligh is a christian and his song last night was a Mute Math one I believe….my son has some of their music but I don’t know a lot of their stuff. I think Melinda is a christian too and I was impressed with her voice in the Memphis auditions so I hope she does well tonight.
Enjoy your tv viewing!

I’m hoping Chris does well too. I really like him and had seen a link somewhere to his blog. He had taken down most of his posts, but some were still up. Phil did start out really bad, but got better and by the end, I thought he sounded great. Blake did do good, but Tim kept saying “he should do the beat boxing stuff again”.

Guess we’ll have to tape the girls and watch later, when we get a chance. Too many good shows on right now to have time for all of them 🙂

Oh, and please don’t post that site, too tempting. I don’t want to know!

What is beat boxing, asks this Old Goat who must be SO behind the times???

  3. Gail Says:

LOL! Beatboxing is creating sounds, beats, rhythms using the mouth. You can read a brief definition on Wikipedia:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beatboxing

I read it is also called “human orchestration”, fancy sounding! Has more to do with music today, like maybe hip hop, and I’m not as much into it but this guy can do it pretty good.

OMG – I AM SOOOO OLD!!! So that’s what all that strange noise is called!

Hip hop – isn’t that describing the way I walk when my left hip is hurting from old age arthritis??

You’d think with a 16 year old living here I’d be more up on this stuff. I’m so glad she has an iPod so I don’t have to hear it all. Give me Barry Manilow and I’m happy.

    Hi Gail,

I totally agree with your description of the guys. I liked Blake the best too. I thought Chris’s song was a Christian rock song, but I wasn’t sure.

I’m already looking forward to next week!
