For the few people that read my blog, you probably know that Elizabeth is the one of my children that does NOT like fish at all. Doesn’t want to eat it, look at it or talk about it……she will eat shrimp and maybe some other shellfish which I keep telling her aren’t as good for her as the salmon that we eat frequently. And what’s even more strange, to her friends as well as to us, she will eat fish sandwiches from McDonald’s! Which aren’t really fish and are really no good for you! But when the guys caught a lot of trout up in the Colorado mountains on our vacation, we decided to cook them one night and she agreed to try a bite of it. We even got pictures!

Surprisingly, I think she liked it since she ate a whole one! Of course it helped that Jeremy had made this really good white sauce for the potatoes that I think she put on the fish as well. The guys kept saying the fish were pretty but I didn’t think they looked so good here, before they were cooked:

You might can see the cooked fish here in the pan, still not sure they look so good! But they did taste good and we had a fun time eating them.

And Liz, with the fish that she ate! I think she was rather brave to try it when it’s not something she likes. I guess we all have foods that we don’t like and usually just won’t ever try them again because we didn’t like them before; I certainly don’t like to taste something that I’m sure I don’t like!

And with bones even, I’d much rather have a fish filet rather than a whole one.

She even said that it didn’t taste “fishy”, which is partially what I think she doesn’t like about it. I think they aren’t supposed to taste that way anyway. But now, you’ve got pictures Elizabeth to show everyone that you did eat fish!

Wow, I’m totally impressed that Elizabeth would try fish. I know how much she dislikes it. Do you think this might change her mind and she might try other kinds? Huh, Liz, huh, will ya, will ya?!! 🙂

Great pics Gail, love the story!

Mmmmm, I love trout! It’s been a long time since I’ve had any but I was raised on fresh fish. Learned to deal with the bones at a tender age 🙂 Way to go, Liz!
Your daughter is so beautiful 🙂

ugh, i hate sushi Suzanne! I have tried it once and will not do so again. With the fish on the other hand, probably won’t be eating it anytime soon either, unless Jeremy makes some of that wonderful cream sauce we had to go with it!
