David did fire away……..on the last night of our vacation there was a sort of lightning storm at dusk. It rained every evening that we were there, mostly just a short sprinkle but sometimes more. This last night we were waiting around the lodge for an ice cream party when it started lightning. David wanted my camera to take pictures with; Don told him that none of our cameras would be able to catch it because of the delay and the lightning just happens too fast, etc. But that didn’t deter him and he must have taken at least 100, plus he deleted a good many of them and kept going. I finally told him to leave them on there and see what we got when we put them on the computer. Then he switched over to the video mode on the camera and did quite a few videos of it as well. We had to leave early that Saturday morning to drive back to Denver for our flight home, before daylight. So in the car he asked for the camera again and must have shot at least another 100 pics out the car windows! Some of them actually turned out pretty fair……so I thought I’d do a post about David and his photos! Click below if you want to see them:

Lightning at night:

I convinced him to turn it to night mode for a few shots; he didn’t like it because it made it look more like daytime and we weren’t sure if the lightning would show up but this one turned out ok I thought. This is the lodge deck and just below it at the bottom right you can see a sidewalk, our cabin was just where it turned at the 2nd little dot of light; the pool is to the right, just out of view at bottom right corner. We had a great location with our cabin.

He took this one on the way back from town playing golf; there are some trees off in the distance to the right just at the base of the mountain and you can’t see them but there are a couple of small buildings there and that is where we rode horses to for the outdoor cookout. So we came from the left side of this shot and around the sides of some of those mountains off to the left and then through the open land over to that stand of aspen trees.

These he took early Saturday morning on our drive back to Denver, love the color of the sky!

I liked these because you can see this deserted looking road stretching out before you going through the mountains:

This is further down the road, past some of the mountains and sun is out more. I liked his perspective of the road:

Last one for David and I thought this was neat because it looks sorta like there is a crown in the sky, in the clouds. Like God has crowned it with his glory, ok just my perspective but I liked it & wanted to include it:

Wow, what fantastic shots! Good for David, he needs a high level camera and should be a photographer 🙂 I love those kind of picture, the simple things and things in nature, things that show us the awesomeness that is God’s creation. Tell him he did an incredible job!
