This week SPF is Shaun style…..Kristine is getting ready for her wedding! The assignment is:
1. Something with a story behind it. Photograph something that has a story behind it. And yes, you might have to actually write a little bit on this one. Good, sad, funny. Be creative.
2. A Random and Odd photo. Pick anything. For this picture, the reader on your blog needs to write a story or caption for your picture, so get something unique.
3. In keeping with the recurring wedding theme, a photo of something borrowed.
Here are my photos this week:

1. Something with a story behind it
When my husband’s paternal grandmother died many years ago, an awful looking desk pen holder was found at her house. Someone in the family brought it with them and decided that it would start being given to husband, siblings & spouses as a gag, at various occasions like birthdays, Christmas, anniversary etc. Whoever has it keeps it just long enough for everyone to forget about it and then when you least expect it, you receive a beautifully wrapped gift and inside is this terrible looking thing! And of course, if there are people present that aren’t family members, you have to do some explaining about it. This has been passed around a good bit over the years. A while back I think the parents decided it was time for another generation to get in on it so it was given to my oldest son at his high school graduation. He sort of kept it longer than normal but did eventually send it to a cousin at her college graduation. When her sister was getting married, some family members thought it was lost so they had my mother in law make a copy of it….she does pottery so she made one that looked very similar to it. Her sister actually had the original, although no one knew it, so last year for another cousin’s wedding it was given to our nephew a night or 2 before his wedding. As far as anyone knows, he now still has it and it is waiting for the next unsuspecting person or occasion for it to be passed on. I don’t know how long this will keep going on but it has been around in the family for quite a number of years now. This is our nephew with it and this is the original deal! Still very hideous looking! (and all true, not made up)

2. A Random and Odd photo. Ok, if you are reading this, you have to post a caption or story about this one! Just leave me a comment.

3. Something borrowed.
Pretty easy, we recently borrowed this DVD from Stacy & Tim to watch, and we returned it as well!
