Not too bad so far, for a Monday! Had an eye appointment this morning to check the pressure, and I’m glad it was ok! They told me not to use the Baush & Lomb contact solution anymore, I threw most of mine out a week or so ago when I heard about that infection! They were supposed to give me samples of some new stuff but I think they forgot. I think I’m going to try some new contacts……I don’t like the Acuvue Hydraclear they advertise on tv all the time, they don’t seem too clear to me! But the eye dr also found an eyelash in my eye with the contact, that he said had been there a while, because something had coated over it I think he said, so I wonder if that had been making my eye feel not so clear all the time; maybe it was that and not the contacts!
Also, Don put out some slug bait late yesterday evening and when I checked the flower bed this morning, I think that stuff works! We saw some slugs that looked like they might be dying and didn’t see many trails of any that had been there during the night, so I hope that takes care of it; the downside is, I think you have to keep putting it out every few weeks or so 😥

and, yay, the Stella ‘d’ ora is blooming! That is a nice happy too.
I think the slugs have been getting the hostas; I thought only one had come back this year, the one on the back left, so I planted 3 more (in the front) and now another one is starting to peek through on the back right. Not sure you can see it in this pic or not. But maybe if this bait stuff works, my hostas will do better; some of these already have holes in the leaves.
Backtracking: I made a cake for Relay for Life for Friday night here, was supposed to be all night til Saturday. About the time we thought about going to check it out, the bottom dropped and it poured so we opted to stay home. Watched Flightplan instead…….thought I might have to leave in a couple of spots of it but I survived it! Helped a friend with an estate sale for little more than half the day Saturday while Don worked; then we all ate together at the country club for lunch yesterday after church…..they had some kind of good chocolate dessert cobbler thing! And I wasn’t going to have dessert til I saw that!
Also helped a friend this morning; she wanted some advice/recipes on healthy eating for a talk she is doing for a church function…..not sure I’m the one that needs to give help but I talked to her anyway! And now it is afternoon and I really haven’t done much for the day! At least we’ll eat something fairly healthy for supper; I took out Ahi Tuna to fix.
And excuse me, but I just have to say…..Will Tom Cruise EVER go away! I’m so tired of hearing him and hearing about him and I thought with the birth over that it might be the end of it but no, he was on tv again this morning being all exuberant and gushy. I’m just so tired of it. I used to like him and his movies but I think when he gave out less info on his life, he was more likeable somehow. It is time for him to be not so visible again! Ok, I’ll step down off the box now, just had to get that off my chest!

OK, starting at the top… there was an eyelash in your eye that has been there and something coated over on top of it? Ewww. ICK! I hate having anything in my eye, if I get an eyelash or a drop of mascara or a speck of dust, I claw and dig until it doesn’t hurt and washes out. Drives me nuts. I can’t believe you’ve had one in there days, weeks or months! I need to go get my eyes checked, but that will be next year, when Tim can add vision to his insurance. Maybe I won’t develop glaucoma and go blind before then.
Next, your hostas and Stella d’Oro’s look great! I’m posting some flower pics today also. Have it all ready to go but just haven’t published. Some days I think I blog too much, too much to read! 🙂
Glad the slug bait is working. I salted one on my back door step Saturday night. I hate those little suckers.

Cool that you’re the Queen of Healthy Eating now 🙂 Let me know what you do with the tuna, I am going to buy some of that soon and try it. Maybe Tim could grill it… let me know how you cook it.
And last but certainly not least, you know how I feel about Mr Scientology himself, Tom Cruise. I used to love him, goes way back to Risky Business and Top Gun. I even did a poll at the very beginning of Hambones to pick Tom Cruise or Tom Hanks as your preferred actor. Now, I would pick Hanks 10 times out of 10. I’m on a total Cruise boycott. After his Oprah jumping session and his thing with Matt Lauer and Brooke Shields, that did it for me. He makes me ill. I have been boycotting him for about a year now. Refused to see War of the Worlds and I’m going to fight about MI3, but I think I’ll lose that one. I still dislike him immensely. I refuse to watch his drama on any of these shows anymore. Ick.

My two cents:
We had major slug problems in Tacoma. Slug bait works.
I heard on the way home tonight a picker is choosing M.I. 3 as a top 5 must see this summer, and speculated whether people (like you two) would boycott because of him. Unlikely, but still…..he’s getting too much and I don’t even see all the shows you guys do. Nice flower pics.
for the Tuna. Put it on foil on the grill, butter and lemon and it’s good to go.
