Book - The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
I recently checked this book out of the library, based on lots of good feedback I had seen online (various blogs, reading lists, message board discussions, and it being a very popular book club pick). This was a long book, but very engrossing. I wasn't sure when I started it that I would like it very much, but I did. It is very different from the books I normally read, but I always find that "breaking out of my normal routine" and reading something different is usually a very good thing for me. Keeps the brain cells churning. :)
This is the story of Henry and Claire. Henry has "Chrono-Displacement Disorder", which means he suddenly, without warning or control over it, travels through time. Mostly, the book describes the times he meets Claire (who later becomes his wife) and other family and friends (all relevant to the storyline). The book moves back and forth through time, telling the story first from Henry's side and then from Claire's. It got a bit distracting after a while to me, all the jumping around!
This was a good book, not spectacular, but very good and very different from what I normally read. I do love science fiction, but had never read any, and actually - I don't consider this a sci-fi book. I consider it more a book about love and relationships.
