We finally got around to renting this one over the weekend also (11/21/04). I had read the comments in the Forums that Gail and Suzanne had posted about seeing this movie, and agreed to give it a try. Denzel Washington was good in this movie, and the little girl, Dakota Fanning, was outstanding. A lot of heart. Good plot, tons of violence and bad language. I could see the gory and bad parts coming up, so I just covered my eyes. The only part with that was that part of the time they were talking Spanish and displaying the words on the screen, and I couldn't read the words and risk seeing the violence!
Anyway, we liked it. Neither of us particularly liked the cinematography (jerky, edgy, artsy), but other than that and the violence, we both thought it was a good movie.
