DVD - Pride and Prejudice
We rented this movie the same weekend we got "Lord of War" for Tim. I truly believed he enjoyed my "chick flick" a whole lot better than Lord of War! I didn't think he would watch it with me, considering the time frame and subject matter, but he agreed to give it a try, and then by the end, he was really wanting to know what happened and how it all ended.
Me, on the other hand, I loved it. I love the book, I love British movies, things like Sense and Sensibility and Room with a View. Those are my cup of tea. This one was the same way. Excellent adaptation of the book, good actors, great movie. I thorougly enjoyed it, and I give it 9 out of 10 stars. If you like this genre, a definite rental. I might buy this one down the road to add to my collection.
In the mean time, I'm hoping to check out the A&E miniseries of Pride & Prejudice that stars Colin Firth. It's about 10 years old, but my library has it on VHS (I think it's 5 hours total). Sigh. One day, when I have a lot of "girl time" lined up :)

DVD - Pride and Prejudice Posted by Gail on 2006-04-18 21:53:19 My Score:
We rented and watched Pride and Prejudice as well.....I thought it was good and enjoyed it. Don thought they talked too fast and thought he couldn't keep up, but enjoyed it! I think the girls think that the longer version with Colin Firth is better, I think I have maybe only seen parts of it. I thought this one was well done and worth watching. |
