Cook spaghetti according to package directions; drain. Add butter, cheese and eggs to hot spaghetti. Form mixture into a "crust" and fit into a 10" greased deep dish pie plate. Spread cottage cheese over spaghetti. Set aside.
Brown ground chuck and drain. Add onion and seasonings, if desired, and cook until onion is soft. Stir in spaghetti sauce and heat through. Add this mixture to the spaghetti crust.
Bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Sprinkle with mozzarella and return to oven for 5 minutes, or until cheese melts.
Note: This can be prepared ahead of time. Just keep pie in refrigerator until ready to bake, then increase baking time since it's cold.
