Fantasy Football 2010

The sixth season of our family fantasy football league concluded in late December 2010. Congratulations to Stacy, whose team was named Pigskin Posse, for winning this year!

Saints win the Super Bowl!!!

Who Dat say de gonna beat dem Saints? Who Dat? Who Dat?

Yes, the unthinkable has happened! Our beloved Saints had a great season, led by our quarterback, #9 Drew Brees. The Saints started out with a 13-0 record, another record breaking stat, before losing the last 3 games of the season. They earned a bye in the first round of the playoffs, and also home field advantage. We beat the Arizona Cardinals and the Minnesota Vikings, at home, to earn our first ever Super Bowl berth. The Saints took South Florida by storm, and defeated the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl 44, by a score of 31-17.

We are still celebrating, and probably will be, the entire off-season!

Fantasy Football 2009

Sam Turns One!

Our great-nephew, Sam Cole, turned one on October 8, 2008! Happy Birthday to Sam :) We haven't been posting news here on Hambones.org for a while, so we neglected to even post last year when he was born. We're trying to improve on that and post some more news out here.

We'll be going to his first birthday party to see the birthday boy this weekend. I hear he's even taking steps and walking some now, so we're looking forward to seeing that and his big sister Katelyn too :)

Hambones Fantasy Football League - Fall 2008

The Hambones Fantasy Football league is now entering its fourth season, with the opening of professional football in Sept 2008. Congratulations to our previous winners (Tim in year 1, Chris in year 2 and Moises in year 3), and good luck to everyone playing this year. We hope it's a fun season for everyone involved.

We have a few new features this year to our league. First, we participated in the first live draft, which was fun. Tim and Stacy hosted it at their house on Labor Day, and Gail, Chris, Tim and Stacy all participated (Zack tried to live draft, but he couldn't remember his password!), and Mark participated via a conference call. Also, this year we are hosting the league at ESPN rather than Yahoo. ESPN provides free live scoring for everyone, so we really liked that feature.

We hope everyone has a great time playing in our family fantasy football league this year!

Hambones Football Fantasy League Results

Congratulations to Chris, Jurisprudence What?, our winner in the second annual Hambones fantasy football league. Chris beat out Skull Crushers (Michael) for the championship game this past weekend. Tim (WhoDat) and Zack (Bone Crushers), two true "Hambones" battled it out for third place, with Tim emerging as the third place winner.

Thanks to everyone who played, and we hope you all enjoyed the season. We plan to play again next year, so watch the main page here for an announcement (as well as your email) with info around July or August about playing again.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween to everyone from Hambones.org! Hope you all got to do something Halloween or fall oriented this weekend, or will on Halloween (Tuesday). Maybe attend a harvest festival, or go trunk-or-treating, go to a costume party, or maybe even take your kids trick or treating on Tuesday night. Eat some candy, and enjoy the holiday!

After several months on hiatus, trivia has returned to the forums at Hambones.org. If you'd like to participate in our trivia games, please log in with your id and proceed to the Trivia Forum, and play along. Questions will be asked on Tuesdays and answers given the following Tuesday. Unless, of course, we have a bigger-than-expected level of participation, and then, we might return to twice-weekly trivia.

Second Annual Hambones Fantasy Football League

The second annual Hambones Football Fantasy League is now under way. Our commissioner, Mark, has setup the league and we can begin setting up our teams now.

There is some information posted in the Sports Forum here at Hambones (remember, you must be a registered user to read the Forums). I have also sent out an email to those of you who I think are interested. Please let me know if you would like to play via email or the forum, and we'll be sure to get you signed up. Right now, we have 14 in our league, and we're really looking forward to playing again this year!
